Steven Tyler Carter, Chief Investment Officer at Voth Nixon Group declared that now is the time
for fixed income investors to think outside the conservative box. “It’s more than sure that we are
about to hit the end of a long time decline in interest rate”, said Carter. “Without a shadow of a
doubt, we need to come up with the right strategies for the next decade when the interest rates
will likely be rising. Thus we consider a viable solution is an actively managed, uncontrolled,
worldwide portfolio”, continued Carter.
According to the survey, almost 59 percent of investors think that interest rates will increase in
2016. Even though they indicated rising interest rates as being one of their main worry, nearly
half comprehended the interaction between interest rates and bond prices.
The topic on which all the investors agreed with was risk management - 89 percent declared this
is a major factor when having a fixed income portfolio. This could be another reason why 67
percent of the interviewed investors pointed out they are investing in dynamical fixed income
funds.
