Basic Things You Must Know

Don’t know how to play Zuma Blitz? Click on Help first. Trust me. It’s the fastest way to learn

1. Alternative ball color – Right click = green to purple ball. Right click again = purple to green ball
2. Hot frog bar – Each successful shot increases the bar
3. Time – Starts at 1:00 (1 minute)
4. ZUMA – Z (appears at 0:45), U (appears at 0:30), M (appears at 0:15), A (appears at 0:00)
5. Options – change sound volume & enable / disable color blind option
6. Pause – sometimes, the pause button lags. You have to click it twice to actually pause the game
7. Multiplier – x 1 means your score will times 1. If multiplier is x 2, you will get double the score
8. Death spots – every board has 2 of these. If one ball enters one of them, the game is over
9. Power ups – before you start the game, click on Powers to choose your power ups
10. Fruit – in this picture, you will score 3,300 for the 1st fruit shot

Turn off Facebook chat

Before you start the game, turn off chat (by going offline). Otherwise, you’ll face a heavy 2 – 3 seconds
of lag while playing Zuma Blitz. Some people have even reported their notifications affecting their
Zuma Blitz gameplay. Personally, I have never been affected by that.


Mojo – Your money in Zuma Blitz. You use them to buy Power Ups. Typically, you earn
200 to 500 mojo in one round, depending on the number of balls you clear. The more balls
you clear in that round, the more mojo you earn. But this does not happen linearly.

Idol – Another special currency in Zuma Blitz. When you level up, you earn some idol. The
main benefit is you can use 100 idols to be able to play Zuma Blitz the whole day when you
buy the 24-hour Life. During the mojo lucky draw (treasure chest), there are 2 slots for idol
(4 idols and 8 idols). I get both 4 and 8 idols from time to time. It is possible.

After a game, you earn mojo and XP. XP (experience) are points that make you level up

Hover your mouse over the red oval area to see the red double underlined box. At that time, I needed 500
XP more to level up to 48

Types of balls

1. Time ball

Red time ball

Extra 5 seconds

The time ball is the most important ball of all. More time means more points you can get in a game. 1 time
ball gives you 5 seconds. You might ask, what if I get 2 time balls at one go? Does Zuma Blitz count that as
10 seconds? The answer is yes.

Note: If you shoot the time ball successfully within 1 or 2 seconds after it disappears, you still get the 5
seconds time bonus.


2. Multiplier ball

Multiplier x 2 score

Multiplier is responsible for all of your high scores. If there is no multiplier, each ball will only give you 10
score each. It is also the most important ball in Zuma Blitz.

Note: If you shoot the multiplier ball successfully within 1 or 2 seconds after it disappears, you still get the
multiplier bonus.

Types of shots

1. Normal shot

3 blue balls

Score 30 points

This is done on a multiplier x 1, meaning your score will times 1.

1 ball equals to 10 points.


2. Combo shot (chain)

2nd shot – 3 green balls

Score 60 points

Still on a multiplier x 1. But your score now doubles. Why? You have 2 successful shots, which gives you
chain x 2. Chain will accumulate for each consecutive successful shot. The higher your chain, the more you
earn per shot. If you miss once, your chain goes back to chain x 1, earning you less. So, missing will cost
you points! Getting high chain (e.g. chain x 60) is one of the keys to getting high scores.


3. Critical shot (2 x points)

4 purple balls

Score 240 points

You should have scored 120 points (on chain x 3) by default. But due to x 2 critical, it became 240 points.

Critical shots happen due to luck (or probability, depending on the rate). Either way, it is still random. There
is no reliable information on how a critical hit happens. But, the higher your level, the higher your chances
of scoring a critical shot and the more it happens.


4. Gap shot

Wide gap

3 purple balls through a wide gap

Score 5240 points



Narrow gap

3 yellow balls through a narrow gap

Score 9240 points (much higher than 5240 points in wider gap)


5. “Joining” shot

Aiming at 2 pairs of red balls that are about to join together

Score 4960 points (much higher than normal score)
