Narrative
The setting for the cut-sequence is an abandoned mansion, a team of rescue people
are there to see what has happened. You can tell that it is abandoned because there
is an echo to the player’s voice and there is no background sound apart from the
doors creaking and the clock ticking.
The mood is eyrie, there is no background sound until you see the first zombie and
because there is no background sound it builds to suspense to the mood suggesting
that something is going to happen.
The game genre is a horror, this is shown by constant silence and the odd noise in
the background and the echo to the player’s voices to show abandonment, also
when there is music it is very loud and sudden to tell you that something is going to
happen.
The players are constantly on edge and there is a hint of worry to their voice and
that makes the narrative more immersive and shows that not only are the
characters scared but that you should be.
There is also very little dialogue when you are walking around so that always gives
the player the sense of danger.
