4. What lays ahead
 Meeting at the boarding stairs, so that you can dive into the Baikal culture from
the very first steps. National flavor, aroma of crispy and tender baked cisco, air
clean like a drop of Baikal’s water. Hello, Baikal!
 Ahead of you there are pristine places of Northern Baikal, rafting along
mountain rivers, obstacle course on ATVs and mountain bikes, horse riding,
tracking in the primeval taiga, meetings with the best entrepreneurs of the
region, mushroom and blueberry picking, sleeping under the stars at
comfortable camping sites, swimming in healing natural springs. Ultimate and
unforgettable experience!
 The route is planned in such a way that it combines leisure and business
component: discussion of projects, a number of federal and republican target
programs, trainings and workshops, guitar songs, fishing and much more. All
this in the setting of Northern Baikal, in an atmosphere of privacy, tranquillity
and comfort.

5. Retreat logistics
Day 1.
Meeting, introduction, briefing. First tests of
vehicles and drivers. Getting on ATVs and
mountain bikes. Trip of 40-45 km through
Dzhirginsky Reserve.
Forcing 2 fords of the rivers Barguzin and
Kovyli. Setting up the camp, dinner, night’s
rest at the tent camp.
Day 4. ATV group.
Trip on ATVs and mountain bikes to the village
Kumora ~ 60 km. Mix of obstacles: rapids with
a steep slope, earth baths, stony areas along
the Sramnaya river and ruts up to 50 cm
deep. Warm welcome by owners of the guest
house. Home-cooked meal, sauna. Night’s
rest.
Day 8.
Departure from “Akushanda” camp site on
motor boats. Reserve “Dagary”.
Accommodation at the cordon “Dagary”.
Fishing: big pike (up to 10 kg), ide (1-2 kg),
perch. Sauna. Night’s rest at the cordon.
Days 2-3.
Trip of about 80 km. Forcing third ford across
the Barguzin river. Crossing Rukhlovsky
mountain pass (1450 m). Night’s rest at the
Svetlaya river.
Day 5.
Horse riding. Trip by motor boats ~ 35 km.
Fishing. Accommodation at the camp site.
Hearty meal, rest, sauna. Sitting around the
campfire. Night’s rest.
Day 9.
Departure on motor boats along the island of
Yarki to Nizhneangarsk. Stop by the
monument – Northern end of Lake Baikal.
Transfer to the hotel in Severobaykalsk.
Accommodation, rest, Russian sauna.
Day 4. Water/fishing group.
Slipway, preparation of the equipment,
briefing, training in methods and skills of
boating. Rest, fishing. Rafting down the
Svetlaya river on catamarans 55-60 km (7-8
running hours). Finish at the tourist camp
“Akushanda”. Accommodation, sauna, dinner.
Days 6-7.
Fishing on the rivers Svetlaya (Akushanda),
Upper Angara, Kotera. Departure on motor
boats. “Quiet Hunting” - picking mushrooms.
Evening gathering around the campfire, fish
broth, smoking the caught fish.
Day 10.
Breakfast. Farewell photo session on the
shores of Lake Baikal. Departure to Ulan-Ude.

7. Days 2-3
 Trip of about 80 km
 Forcing third ford across the Barguzin
river (width ~ 60 m, depth up to 1.0 m)
 Crossing Rukhlovsky mountain pass
(1450 m)
 Night’s rest at the Svetlaya river
The road to the pass gradually goes up; in the canyons it is washed out
due to a small slope and small streams. In some places it is rutted
because of heavy vehicles (up to a depth of 60 cm). At the pass the
road is rocky, sometimes with large boulders. After the pass it becomes
flatter, and you can see the second pass Ozerny (1 250m) and the
valley of the Namama river. On the way the group stops for lunch and
short photo shoots.

8. Day 4. Water/fishing group
 Slipway, preparation of the equipment, briefing,
training in methods and skills of boating
 Rest, fishing
 Departure of a group of 6 people, rafting down
the Svetlaya river on catamarans 55-60 km (7-8
running hours), crossing 4 rapids (3rd category)
 Finish at the tourist camp “Akushanda”
 Accommodation, sauna, dinner, rest
Captain of the ship is an experienced instructor, trained in water
rafting.
Rafting on a mountain river is an exciting and extreme
adventure. It offers an opportunity to test oneself, to rely on a
friend's shoulder, to become a team. If you overcome the nature,
you will be able to fight through every hardship in work and life.

9. Day 4. ATV group

The Upper Angara is the second most affluent (after the Selenga) river
flowing into the lake. In the upper reaches it is mountain, fast, full of
rapids. The Upper Angara partly flows through marshy Angara hollow
and has a flat character. In the lower reaches it is navigable. The
Angara is the “mother river” of the region.

11. Days 6-7
 Fishing on the rivers Svetlaya
(Akushanda), Upper Angara, Kotera
 Departure on motor boats
 “Quiet Hunting” - picking mushrooms.
 Evening gatherings around the campfire,
fish broth, smoking the caught fish
The route is remarkable, as you can see the famous BAM railway with
its bridges and villages built 40 years ago, do some shopping along the
way, and, above all, visit a hot spring “Dzelinda” (water temp 45-47°C).

12. Day 8
 Departure from “Akushanda” camp site on motor
boats to the place where the Upper Angara flows
into Lake Baikal
 Reserve “Dagary”, a 5-6 hours’ trip
 Accommodation at the cordon “Dagary”
 Fishing - big pike (up to 10 kg), ide (1-2 kg), perch
 Sauna
 Night’s rest at the cordon
This is a favourite observation area for ornithologists.
Many people who stay at this far away cordon recall the movie
“Peculiarities of the National Fishing”.

13. Day 9
 Morning fishing in the delta of the Upper Angara
river
 Gathering and departure on motor boats along the
island of Yarki (80 m wide and 15 km long) to the
village of Nizhneangarsk
 Stop by the monument - Northern end of Lake
Baikal
 Getting in vans and transfer to the hotel in
Severobaykalsk
 Accommodation, rest, Russian sauna
The island of Yarki is a place untouched by civilization : there are
no tourist facilities, nightclubs and cafes. There you will find
nothing but sandy beaches, evening sun, melting the expanse of
Lake Baikal, healing Siberian forest and yourself. Narrow sandy
spit 200-250 meters wide stretches over more than 15 kilometers
to the mouth of the Upper Angara river. It is separated from Lake
Baikal by a vast lake – Sor.
