- Remind your student that the CAE exists to help students of all abilities. We do more than just review “end products.” Encourage the student to be a reflective student and keep track of her progress in her studies. Encourage student students to be empowered – to make and keep appointments, to leave ample time to seek assistance before due dates, to bring questions with her to make the most of tutoring sessions, and to understand that we collaborate and coach rather than edit. Support your student as she receives formative feedback.

- Remind students to keep up with deadlines; remind students of this requirement Reinforce the importance of good writing skills and of maintaining responsibility for submitting strong work. Ask your student if she has kept up with her portfolio? Has she consulted resources if she needs assistance? Encourage your student to review feedback and apply it so she is progressing and growing.
