2. Process – Week 1
Overall I believe that the first week in my Final Major Project was very successful. Over the course of the
last 4 days I have been introduced to the course content, completed my Initial Plans and have started my
Research.
On Tuesday were introduced to the course through not only lectures, but through production work also
as I believe the Initial Plans PowerPoint really helped introduce me to the course. The PowerPoint
included Mind Maps and Mood Boards which really helped me express and compare my initial ideas.
Once we had completed this we when had to analyze our mood boards to look for any forms of
repetition, which I also believed was very helpful because if something is recurring it could be a good
indication as to what I should include in my final production.
After I had completed my Initial Ideas I then moved onto my Research, where I had to complete several
slides on existing products to see what techniques they included inside their magazines. I collected
information from 4 different magazines, which included Thrasher, Hype Beast, PAPER and High Snobiety.
Overall I believe I conducted my very successfully and I also believe it will help me throughout my final
production as I can include some of their techniques inside my magazine.
Although I believe I have had a very successful introduction to my final project, there is always room for
improvements. Next time I would've tried to start the next task inside my Research PowerPoint so I have
a clear idea on what needs completing when I come back to college in 3 days, but overall I am very happy
with what I have completed so far.

3. Process – Week 2
After such a successful 1st week of production this helped motivate me this week to continue in the same
manner. Over the past 4 days I have fully completed my Research PowerPoint and have also started my
Production Experiments.
After completing my existing products the previous week I then moved onto audience research, interviews
and bibliography. I gained my audience research through Survey Monkey, where I asked a range of multi
choice and open questions for my fellow class mates to answer. Once I had received 12 completed answers I
then took the data and applied the results into my PowerPoint. I believe analyzing my results really helped me
going forwards as I received helpful improvements and suggestions. I then completed my Interviews, where I
took a range of questions from my survey that I wanted to investigate further and asked my friends to answer
in detail which also helped me improve my concept idea. Finally, I completed my Bibliography which included
several references to companies and websites that had previously been mentioned in my PowerPoint.
After I completed my Research PowerPoint I then moved onto my production experiments where I took a
range of sample logos and reflected on the techniques I used throughout them. Overall I made 4 logos, all
through the use of PhotoShop and applied different techniques to each. My first 3 logos were a range of
images exported from Google to PhotoShop whilst my final logo was made through Pixel Art. After completing
all 4 I was very happy with what I had produced as it included a range of different features throughout each
logo.
Overall I believe my second week was very successful in helping move forwards with my final production. The
reason why I believe this is because I managed to complete a range of different tasks, which also included
some production work. One aspect of my work that I would like to improve in the future would be to reflect
each logo individually but unfortunately I do not have enough time. But overall I am very happy with what I
have produced in the second week.

4. Process – Week 3
After two very successful weeks, I then went into week 3 with a very positive mind frame. This week I completed my
Proposal and started my Pre-Production PowerPoint.
After downloading my Proposal I went straight in and started answering the questions provided. These questions
included the title of my magazine, my target audience and what I've learnt over the past year. Each question had a
word count so we knew how much content we needed to include in each question which I believed was very helpful
also. Inside the Proposal I explained why my target audience was for people aged between 16-25 and also what I've
learnt over the previous 7 months which has helped me decide to create my own magazine. We also had to
complete a Bibliography and a schedule list to prepare us going forwards. Overall i believe my Proposal was very
successful as it contains lots of data that i can refer back to throughout the duration of the course if I am ever
struggling.
After completing my Proposal list I then moved onto my Pre-Production PowerPoint. In these slides I took several
basic features that will be included in my magazine and went into more detail on how and where they will be used.
This included fonts, colour schemes and image styles. For each slide I applied several different images of what I did
and didn't want to apply in my magazine. After this I explained what the images showed and also explained why I
did or didn't want to include it in my final production. After taking lots of research I really believe it has really
helped me going forwards as I don't have to consume lots of time testing several different features when I can just
simply refer back to my PowerPoint also.
Overall I am very happy with the work I have completed in the 3rd week of my final project. The reason behind this
is simply because I am on track and also finding my completed work very helpful to refer back to as mentioned
previously. However, if I had to make an improvement for this week it would be to include a wider range of images
in my Pre-Production slides so I had more ideas to expand on when creating my final production, however this can
be resolved in my free time if necessary.

5. Process – Week 4
• I have just completed my fourth week in my final major project as I reach closer to my production
work. Over the course of the past 4 days I have been finalizing my 5th PowerPoint (Pre-Production)
where I have completed my health and safety plan, resource list, contingency plan and have started
my layouts.
• Whilst completing my health and safety list I included lots of potential scenarios I might face in the
upcoming weeks. Once I had stated the issue I then explained what I would do to resolve the issue, so
that I can refer back to it if necessary. I then completed my resource list which included lots of props
that will need bringing to college from my house, whilst also including items that I will be hiring from
college such as the camera and tripod. This is also very helpful as I can use the slide as a checklist to
ensure I have brought all my props with me to college.
• After I completed these slides I then moved onto my layouts, where I design page which indicates
where images and text will be located. Once I have completed my layouts I can then use these to
create my final production. I will be creating a layout design for my magazine cover, web shop,
website and finally my two sided spread. The first layout I created was for my magazine cover through
the use of Photoshop, which I was very happy with so hopefully I can continue in the same vain.
• Overall I was very happy with the production work I have completed this week as I have completed a
variety of tasks that desperately needed completing which comforts me going into the following
week. I also believe this week has been very successful as I have completed a range of both evaluation
and production work which helps breaks it up and prevents lessons feeling repetitive. If I had to make
an improvement on the work I have competed this week, I would have tried to complete a different
layout design because InDesign is out of my comfort zone currently and it would have been nice to
have a clearer understanding on the application going into the following week.

6. Process – Week 5
• I have just completed the 5th week in my final project. Over the previous 4 days I have adjusted
most of my PowerPoint's to ensure that they are at the best possible standard. I have also started
my layout designs that were included inside my 5th PowerPoint that I will also be continuing next
week.
• After taking a look through my completed PowerPoint's, I then rechecked them all to ensure that I
made no grammar mistakes whilst also applying more information when needed. I made some
improvements to my Initial Plans after receiving feedback from Scott, which included more mood
boards and more information on my mind maps. I then moved onto my Proposal where I applied
more information to my audience research, which included extra demographics.
• After I had finished applying more information to my completed PowerPoint's, I then moved onto
my layout designs. The first design I have created is my magazine cover, where I used Photoshop to
apply text boxes to and rulers to indicate where everything inside my magazine would be located.
Once I had completed this I then used the same page to start my final magazine cover. To do this I
altered my text boxes into images and applied my heading in the fonts and colours I previously
mentioned I was using. Next week I will carry on completing my magazine cover and will then move
onto the next layout design.
• Overall I was very happy with the work I produced over the past 4 days, as I believe they were very
productive and included lots of different aspects of the course. I believe reacting to my feedback
was very important as I now know what to apply in the future which I didn't previously. Also I am
very happy that I have started my final production work as I have been working towards starting
over the previous 5 weeks. If I had to make an improvement to the previous 4 days of production
work it would be to have completed my final magazine cover as I deleted my first 2 attempts
because I wasn't happy with it, which consumed between an 1-2 hours of production time, but
thankfully I am currently producing a cover I am very happy with.

7. Process – Week 6
I have just completed the 6th week in my final major project. Over the past 4 days I have been creating
my final website design which will link very closely to my magazine, so it has been a very busy and
productive week.
I decided to make my website on Wix, as I have used this application several times in the past and I very
much like the features it includes. I then needed to decide what template I was going to use and after
looking through several pages I decided to pick a skateboard shop template as my website will include
both skateboards and a shop and it was also a very smooth design. The first page I completed was my
home tab which was very important as my customers will receive their first reaction on this page. So to
make sure it was presented at the best possible standard I went through each option you could
edit/apply and if it looked good I just stuck it in! An example of this would be when I applied links to
other sections on my website and also applied a light box when my website first opened as these little
features can make a big difference. After this I then moved onto other pages in my website which
included customer service and my blog. My blog included plenty of images and text as I included 5
different articles and may include some more if I have enough time! But overall this section was very
important as it included the same information I will be including in my magazine also. After this I
completed my customer service which also included an FAQ for anybody that had any enquires about my
website. It also included a customer support box where you could email me any other enquires you may
have.
Overall I am very happy with the work I have completed this week as I am so very close to finishing my
website which leaves me with just my two page spread to complete. I am also very happy because I
received the opportunity to use Wix again where I learnt plenty of new features. Something to improve
on for next week is to be more prepared as I was unable to complete my shop as I didn't have enough
images to attach to my clothing so I will be taking lots of pictures this holiday so I can then apply them

8. Process – Week 7
I have just completed my 7th week in my final production where I attended college on Tuesday and
Wednesday afternoon due to exams. Within this period of time I finalized all of my production work so
that i could start my evaluation the following week.
The final step that needed completing in my production was my two page spreads that would be
presented in the inside of my magazine. The process included taking photos, creating articles and also
designing the magazine itself. The first step I took within this process was the photographs as this
could be completed at home to make it up for lost time due to exams. Once I had taken the photos I
wanted to apply to my magazine I then edited them on Photoshop so they could be presented in a
very professional manner, this included colors, drop shadows and RGB curves. Once completed, I
opened up a document on In-Design and placed them in the correct order. After this I then applied my
articles that were included on my website into the In-Design document to go alongside my images.
However I had to edit my articles to ensure they were in line with my columns, didn't include any
hyphens and also were lined up correctly. This was all completed over the Tuesday and Wednesday I
attended college.
Overall I am very happy with the work that I produced this week as I had a very limited duration of
time to complete any production work and within this time I completed a full magazine on In-Design
due to how much I completed outside of college also. I am also very happy as I learnt several new
features within In-Design and Photoshop which will really set the ball rolling next year when I use
these applications on a regular basis. However, if I was to make an improvement on the work I
completed this week, I would've applied a back cover onto my magazine to go alongside my front
cover and my two page spreads. However this could have only took place on the college premises due
to the applications I need to use and unfortunately due to exams I never received the opportunity to
do so. However, as mentioned previously I am very happy overall with the work I completed.

9. Process – Week 8
I have just completed the final week in my final major project. Over the previous 8 weeks i have
completed 7 Power Points, a website and a magazine for my final product. Over the previous week I
have been working on my final PowerPoint which is my evaluation Power Point.
When arriving to college on Tuesday I finalized everything on my production work and then moved
straight onto my evaluation. The Power Point included slides on my Research, Planning and Technical
Qualities. For each slide I explained how i conducted my Research, how important it turned out to be
and finally how i could improve each. Overall the 7 slides i completed took 3 days to complete and i will
need to carry on with the rest of the PowerPoint over the weekend. To make sure i could complete my
evaluation i placed my Power Point onto One Drive so i could access it on my computer at home. The
slides that still need to be completed are audience appeal, aesthetic qualities and feedback from my
classmates. To ensure i receive feedback from my friends i will email them each my production work
and then once they've reviewed it i will copy and paste their feedback onto my PowerPoint slide.
Overall I have mixed opinions on how I currently feel about the work i completed this week. Not due to
the quality of my work, but due to the quantity however. My expectations coming into the week was to
complete everything besides my feedback, but unfortunately i still need to complete several other
slides. This issue will be resolved however as I will ensure it's completed before my deadline. I believe
this incident occurred due to how much content I included in my first 7 slides and also due to me losing
my rhythm after completing production work for consecutive weeks. However I will stay positive as the
previous 7 weeks have been very successful.

10. Process – Week 9
I have just completed my 9th week in production. This week I have completed a variety of tasks, which
includes plenty of finalizing and completing work that accidentally missed throughout production.
Tuesday was the first day I attended college in week 9. The first task I completed was my feedback from
class mates. I was able to complete this as both Aaron and Randall attended college, which meant they
could both give me feedback. After this was completed, I started my feedback analysis which went
through what I did and didn't agree with from their feedback. After this was completed a finalized my
website, as I still needed to apply several images and edit my customer service section.
On Wednesday I then started to alter my Evaluation PowerPoint, as I needed to apply more research and
technical qualities than I did previously. I completed more work by including images and fonts to go
alongside my website and magazine for technical qualities.
On Thursday and Friday and then completed my research for both my Initial Plans, Pre Production and
Production Experiments as I previously only completed one PowerPoint for my Research. Overall I am
very happy with the work I have completed in week 9 as I managed to finalize my production work and
also managed to complete several improvements to my Evaluation which will help boost my grade. An
improvement I would make to week 9 is to equal the amount of improvements I made across each
PowerPoint as I did prioritize my Evaluation more than any other, but I do have next week to complete
this so overall, a very successful week.

11. Process – Week 10
I have just completed my 10th and final week in my final major project. Over the past 10 weeks I have
completed and now finalized all 7 Power Points, website, magazine and 10 development posts too. Over
the past 4 days however I have mainly been working on more improvements before I reach my deadline.
On Tuesday I went straight into improving my Power Points. I did this by looking at the feedback I received
from Scott and started on my Initial Plans and ended on my Evaluation. The first important improvement I
made was on my Research PowerPoint, where I altered my existing products, primary research and also
applied some secondary research.
Over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I then worked on my Proposal, Production Experiments and my Pre-
Production. I completed this by following the improvements Scott applied on my email which included
altering my layouts, style sheets and my process reflections. Overall I believe the work I completed was
very important as it needed applying to ensure I will be looking at getting a grade between the merit -
distinction level. An improvement I would have made to my final week would be to improve my work in
order so I felt like I was following a process, however I just altered in a random order which did cause some
confusion. However it is now all completed and ready to be submitted for marking, so all the hard work will
hopefully pay off.
I am very happy with the work I have completed over the past 10 weeks I have learnt so many new
features, completed my first final major product and have also completed 7 Power Points explaining the
whole process behind my product. One improvement I would like to put in place next year is a timetable
which tells me what needs completing for what date so I felt more organized. But besides this, I am really
happy with the work I have completed.
