1. Mix 2
The first part which I noticed needed to be adjusted was because in original it was the quietest part
but I think it should be louder and more noticeable because of its constant repetitiveness which
keeps a tempo to the song.
The overheads section is extremely overpowering compared to everything else and I think each
individual instrument should be the part giving off the clearer sound not all of them jumbled
together. Because of this I lowered the EQ so it is not as over powering but this still was not enough.
All the lower frequency sounds needed to be cut out because there individual parts would be more
distinctive so I added the gate to only allow the kick drum and a little bit of the high hat to be
allowed through.
2. The piano section was very overpowering so I lowered the levels of the frequency’s so this wasn’t
such a problem but also the volume on the mixer will be adjusted as well. The piano section is the
main part instrument in the track so it has to be the loudest but in the original was far too loud.
I added the limiter because I needed the top end parts of the track taken out because of the way it
overpowers the whole section not allowing the sound of the drums to be heard clearly, so the limiter
has stopped the piano
3. The bass microphone when it was recorded was picking up too much of the other drums which are
playing in the background so I adjusted the EQ pulling out the top end which adjusts the track then
raising the other part which distorts the drums sounds in the background making them not heard as
much.
The compressor was used for the same reason I adjusted the EQ, to try and pull out the drum sounds
in the background and making the levels the same so the volume did not peak out too much.
All the levels where adjusted in the mixer so that, they did not over power eachother.
