Program
Since 2011, Johnny Amartey Nuno-Amarteifio has led Ramel International Group, as the Accra,
Ghana-based company’s managing director and chief executive officer. An involved business
leader, Johnny Amartey Nuno-Amarteifio maintains membership in the African Leadership
Network (ALN), an invitation-only association that promotes trade, investment, and
collaboration in Africa.

Program
In pursuit of its mission to improve prosperity and self-sufficiency throughout the African
continent, ALN administers a program called Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship, which provides
grants to innovative and profitable African entrepreneurs who demonstrate a commitment to
business excellence. Launched by the Legatum Group in 2007 , the program honors 13 business
leaders each year with awards in several categories, including Lifetime Achievement,
Outstanding Mature Business, and Outstanding Growing Business.
4. ALN’s Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship
Program
Since it was established, the Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship program has provided 35
entrepreneurs with cash prizes totaling more than $1.8 million. The 2014 winners included the
CEOs of Choppies in Botswana, OSTEC in Ghana, Trust Industries in Rwanda, and Banapads in
Uganda. These honorees were recognized during an awards gala that was held on November 6
as part of the 2014 ALN Annual Gathering.
