rework and updates of consigned products. Liaison for Lexmark representatives to ensure proper inventory levels
at our facilities, usage and orders of electronic components were accurate to ensure timely and proficient shipping
and receiving. Responsible for providing Lexmark Intl. Managers with morning conference calls, daily reports,
and spreadsheets, of day to day JIT operations for consigned materials, and products.
• Negotiated contracts with vendors for raw materials according to customer requirements for this manufacturer-
stainless steel, sheet metal, stampings, brackets, screws, nuts, bolts, washers, studs, pins, Sem screws, anchors,
bits, rivets-to include: solid, semi-tubular, split, shoulder, collar, and blind. Powder coated, heat treated, anodized,
plated, zinc coating, and formed. All plastic components, and coordinated with engineering on designing and
changing all packaging materials for new and existing products.
• Liaison for all International suppliers, needed for specialized materials. (ie: Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Japan,
Mexico, and Brazil). Conducted all meetings, conferences, and contract negotiations for potentially new suppliers
outside of the CONUS.
• Established supplier, customer relationships for reductions in cost of materials as well as shipping and inventory
costs, internationally, and domestic.
• Improved amount of inventory in house, and shipments of raw materials for scheduling of JIT shipments.
• Reduced overall material and inventory costs by $200,000 thru 3rd and 4th quarters of 1999. Introduced two new
products into production for years 2000-2001 and was recognized by superiors for keeping overall pricing and
inventory below annual targets.
• Managed and expedited requisitions and purchase orders for international/domestic suppliers.
• Maintained computerized procurement records for services purchased, contracted, product quality and
performance, and inventories.
• Excellent relationship with engineering for new product introduction.
• Reviewed all drawings and blueprints with engineering for close tolerance sheet metals, and stampings. Ensure
suppliers know the importance of keeping tolerances of metal too exact specifications. (ie: thickness, hardness,
etc.). Approved or disapproved all first piece inspections of new products, or new materials.
• Managed 10+ employees at off site warehouse as well as the main manufacturing plant.
• When product customer filed bankruptcy and went out of business with no prior notice, conducted inventory of
remaining raw materials and had customer agree to settlement payment of those materials.
