Here are the slides from my presentation for the Maskwacis Cultural College focused on how the "digital shift" has made it increasingly difficult to capture our students' full attention. Too often students are dividing their attention between their technology (smart-phones, tablets, or laptop computers - viewing games, social networks, etc...) and their instructor. They are merely shifting their attention and missing important course content and interaction. This session will focus on how to do a "techno flip" and leverage technology in such a way that we can enhance our instructional efforts by finding, choosing, and using interactive open educational resources to connect with our students and gain their full attention
