INTERMOT Motorcycle Show Germany for Motorcycle Product News

I
love the autumn because you get
to see all the new models being
released in Europe! Here’s my
two-minute recap of Intermot and
EICMA. At Intermot, Honda had a great
concept bike, the V4, everyone has been
lauding it, but it wasn’t as impressive
as the concept bikes they’ve had the
last few years at EICMA, where this
year they released a new version of
the Silverwing. With the Streetfighter,
Milan let Ducati show off on its home
turf, and it knocked my socks off.
Malaguti dubbed its new scooter “The
Blog.” At EICMA, Aprilia introduced
the big bore version of the Scarabeo
300. A similar release a few months
ago was the Vespa GTS 300 Super. In
the Chinese pavilion, I found Buyang
Group, which is moving an incredible
number of ATVs and Buggies in the
Italian and German markets. The
Daelim booth was impressive and there
is no announcement as to who will
continue to do warranty or parts since
the US importer has ceased to operate.
Taiwan Golden Bee had an incredible
display at both shows, mainly to focus
on its new ATV line — with their 525 on
display — as well as their new 125cc
scooters. The company is expanding
its offerings in Europe and the United
States. Kymco also displayed some
of its new motorcycles as well as the
700cc scooter, which will hopefully
come to the United States in 2010. MRP
had a chance to display for the first time
at Intermot this year. Our booth actually
had several visitors from the American
Pavillion and U.S. dealers that came to
the event. Working with our partners at
Namura Technologies, we showcased
our new full range of scooter pistons.
