2. Q Magazine. Q magazine is an alternative music magazine. Published monthly in the UK. It's publishing company is Bauer Consumer Media. Was first published in 1986 and was classed as different due to its high quality photos and its higher target audience. Was originally called “cue” but was soon changed to “Q” to avoid confusion with a snooker magazine. Promotional gifts such as cd;s or books are normally given away. They launched a radio station and a t.v channel, the t.v channel is called “Q TV”. They hold the Q awards every year. It’s cover price is £3.90 It’s circulation from 01-July-2008 to 31-December-2008 was 103,017, 81,240 of those being in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Target audience is 30-40 year olds, they say they are more based on the actual music instead of the fashion of the people or what they are doing with their social lives although they say the magazine doesn’t appeal to women of that age. They have a Facebook and a Twitter page. Q magazine is sold in pretty much every news agent. It is also sold in supermarkets such as Tesco, Co-op, Somerfield etc

Photoshop seems to be a common software used as shown on their cover pages, they tend to use a cut out of their celebrity who is appearing on their cover page. They use these software’s to attract and satisfy their readers, setting itself apart from much of the other music press with monthly production and higher standards of photography and printing.
