11. Does anybody really care? (2006)
On a typical day in August, 26 million Americans
were using the internet for news or information about
politics and the upcoming mid-term elections. That corresponds
to 19% of adult internet users, or 13% of all Americans over the age of 18.
From 9/20/06 Pew Report on E-Gov and E-Policy
12. Does anybody really care? (2010)
Fully 73% of adult internet users (representing 54% of all US adults) went online
to get news or information about the 2010 midterm elections, or to get
involved in the campaign in one way or another.
That number was 19% in 2006.
Comparing use of the Internet for
political news during mid-term
elections, 2006 and 2010:
2006 2010
Video 19% 31%
Social Networks 16% 60%
