2. INTRODUCTION
Schools should be prepared for local and community-wide
infectious disease outbreaks. While it is difficult to predict when (or
even if) COVID-19 will rise to the level of a pandemic, there are
actions schools can take to be ready for such events. Schools need
to work collaboratively with their local and state health departments,
and be attentive to determine how to ensure safe learning
environments.
That’s why, Fortunato F. Halili National Agricultural School Annex
derived on creating this Contingency Plan in preparation for the
upcoming opening of classes on September 13, 2021.

Response to COVID-19:

9. The contingency measures in this document
aligns with the Interagency Task Force (IATF)
and RA 10533/Enhanced Basic Education Act
of 2013 for COVID-19. This will enable DepEd
to have better coordination horizontally and
vertically.

The activation of DepEd’s Contingency Plan for COVID-19 is
aligned with the activation of the Harmonized National Contingency
Plan. This includes any of the following triggers:

Timeline Response
Before - Purchase of COVID-related materials
-Preparation of school physical facilities i.e placing physical distancing markers, posting of
procedure ad routes, putting up sanitation area/wash facility
-Everyday monitoring of body temperature using scanner. Body temperature from 38
degrees and above will be barred from entering the school. Once the student, teacher or
the school personnel will register exceeding the normal body temperature he or she will
also be reported for necessary actions
- Weekly disinfection of the school premises
- Meeting with school personnel to identify common challenges and ways to address them
- Tap barangay officials and health workers to ensure immediate communication when
there’s a local COVID transmission in the community
- Orientation with teaching and non-teaching personnel
- Orientation with parents
-MHPSS for teaching and non-teaching personnel, for parents and guardians re the new
modalities of learning
