Students In Action is a national youth volunteer leadership, recognition and reward program, designed to pass the tradition of service on to the next generation.
Co-developed by Jefferson Awards for Public Service and Deloitte, it is now in over 250 High Schools.
Each spring, Student Leaders from the participating schools compete in regional competitions. They are asked to report on the implementation of the program, and the impact they've had, both in their schools and within their communities.
3. Engaging Our School
Avid about receiving support from our Principal,
Mr. Montano
Our faculty coordinators were involved in every
aspect of our goals and objectives.
Largely we wanted to involve the student body by
building awareness and excitement about the
Jefferson Awards.
Dover High School does not have a service
requirement and so hours are tracked by using
numerous volunteer organizations that are housed
within our student body.
4. One Team, BIG Dreams
Our vision for the school
and community:
– Create a growing
interest in the
prestigious award
– Encourage service
– Continue the success
of our program after
our seven seniors have
graduated
5. Expanding Volunteer Capacity

6. Making the Money
We chose the Auntie Anne’s fundraiser
which has been successful in our school in the past
A good way to involve people in the Jefferson
Awards program and make them aware of how the
proceeds will be used towards field trips, increasing
our account, etc.
