I commenced with Ernst & Young Canberra as a Senior
Accountant after migrating to Australia from Fiji in October 2007.
As a senior accountant, my primary role in the assurance team
was to conduct overall audit planning, audit execution and
governance reporting. I was also in charge of engagement
management as well as preparing audit budgets and tasked with
its management and billing.
I was involved in a variety of assurance engagements extending
from not for profit organisations to commonwealth Government
agencies as well as private and listed entities. I was promoted to
the current position of Audit Manager in April 2011 and am now in
charge of a number of audit clients. Some of my key clients have

consultations on high risk issues such as Going Concern, Change
in Accounting Policies and Prior Period Errors and have prepared
technical position papers to resolve those identified issues. As a

Staff Development
As a manager, I have gained significant experience in
communicating with clients and staff. I also contributed to the
development of staff as a counsellor to Accountants and Senior
Accountants. This role involved providing guidance and support to

Learning and Development
I performed an active role in the assurance learning and
development (L&D). This role reports directly to the local L&D
Partner. As the L&D Manager for Canberra Assurance, I liaised
with national L&D team for core assurance training for staff and 6
monthly executive events for the Executive Group.
During my role as the L&D Manager, I implemented the Practical
Issues Forum (PIF) sessions providing Canberra Assurance with
quarterly updates through the EY IFRS Desk. The PIF provided a
forum for assurance staff to get an update on emerging issues,
new and changes to accounting standards, refreshers to auditing
standards and documentation guidance as well as other technical
updates.

I joined PricewaterhouseCoopers Fiji at their Lautoka City office in
August 2003 subsequent to completing my Bachelor of Arts
Degree from the University of the South Pacific.
I commenced employment as a graduate accountant in Assurance.

more responsibilities including the above mentioned activities. I
initiated and chaired team planning events, maintained client
relationships, performed WIP management and billing as well as
reviewing documentation of junior staff before manager review.
