Unfiltered is a Podcast nu Zane Hijazi and Heath Hussar. They began there podcast Unfiltered as they used
to have a section on there YouTube channel called Coffee talk. This was a fan sensation and they would
tune in every week to watch it.
On Unfiltered they talk about there lives. Personal stories and they also share their personal opinions on
drama. This is podcast allows people to connect with them as they talk about their own drama and
situations they have been in which some of their views may have been in a similar situations. They are very
vocal on how they grew up and how they each have faced their own drama such as racism, bullying and
many other topics. They use their platform to speak about serious subjects but also making people laugh
and smile.
They invited many known people such as Tana mongeau, Bella Thorne and many other influencers known
by their target audience. The podcast genre is comedy and drama as they explore the drama which
surrounds the media and makes jokes about them. Many of the audience find them funny where as some
they may get backlash of as so people my see it is offensive. This allows me to understand that I must be
careful of what I say on the podcast as I could easily offend the target audience without realising it.
3. The
Mental
Illness
Happiest
Hour
Comedian Paul Gilmartin hosts a weekly, hour-long audio podcast consisting of interviews with artists,
friends and the occasional doctor.
The show is geared towards anyone interested in or affected by depression, addiction and other mental
challenges which are so prevalent in the creative arts.
Paul’s hope is that the show and this website will give people a place to connect, smile and feel the
return of hope. The biggest myth about mental illness is that you are alone and there is no help.
The Mental Illness Happy Hour is a weekly online podcast that interviews comedians, artists, friends, and
the occasional doctor. Each episode explores mental illness, trauma, addiction and negative thinking.
This mental health podcast is very recommended to people as it is able to give people an inside to other
peoples thought and there own problems with mental health. It is a very information podcast, as it
informs people about mental health problems and how other cope through them and what works and
doesn’t work for them, to show everyone's way of coping is different from others.

4. Podcast Codes & Conventions
Introductions Balance
Each podcast starts with the narrators introducing
themselves and the topic they are talking about in that
episode in order to inform the audience what the
podcast is about and gives a trigger warning to people.
Balance is to show both sides of an argument to ensure it in not
biased. Both sides must be shown fairly. Balance is amount of time a
podcast spends exploring an issue or if the opposing side is given the
opportunity to have a voice. This allows a podcast to create depth
with its subject and present a story
Objectivity
Representation
Being objective in a podcast considers balance, bias,
subjectivity, opinion, and representation to allow the
viewer to come to their own conclusions about an issue.
If a podcast fails to remain objective, then they risk
losing credibility with their audience
Fairly representing a subject is crucial in an ethical story. Statements that
can put a person in a false light someone is not only unethical, but also
potentially illegal. This is where language and issues of balance and bias
come . A good podcast chooses its language carefully to thoughtfully
explore an issue without accusing or falling into a logical fallacy.

5. Smile Podcast
For my smile podcast I will talk about how so many things can create or effect mental such as
alcohol, social media, drugs and much more. I was inspired by the mental illness happiest hour
podcast as they are very information and shows the audience that they are not alone and creates a
sense of community with its listeners.
I know for the podcast I would want to talk about the subjects above but I also want to talk about
personal experience with mental health and how I cope with them or other people do, I want to
create a sense of security for the listener and maybe they may gain courage to speak more about
mental health.
I also know that I want to add facts into the podcast as how mental health effects us so much in
jobs and normal life as surveys have been done to prove that people with mental health problems
have a harder time to find a job compared to other people who may not have server mental health
problems.
