PERSONAL PROFILE
I am an educational specialist with 30 years of multifaceted field-level, policy-oriented and research-based
experience in a wide range of socioeconomic contexts. With an MA in Education, specialized in Curriculum
Development and Evaluation, I have worked fulltime or as an independent consultant focusing on institutional
capacity-building with Ministry of Education through different organizations such as NRC, SCI, ADRA, DIKONIA,
Mercy Corps, AET and UN agencies such as UNICEF and UNESCO. I have served as a lead consultant on several
different curriculum reviews and institutional capacity assessments as well as preparing and facilitating a range of
training workshops/programs for teachers, head teachers, supervisors, regional officers and MoE staffs. I have also
spent extensive time in academia where I served as the director of East Africa University’s Research and
Development Center for as well as its Dean of the Education Faculty. I currently am the Executive Director of
Alliance for Development Solutions (ADS)—a consulting firm based in Garowe, Puntland, which aims to support the
development and economic growth of the Somali regions through the efficient and cost-effective delivery of
development interventions and the management of technical assistance.

the organization’s development strategies and planned activities are relevant and responsive to

donors such as USAID and DFID.
