This document provides formulas and guidelines for correctly citing and referencing ideas from other sources to avoid plagiarism. It explains that any ideas used from another source must be quoted with citations, paraphrased with citations, or clarified with citations. It also discusses error types like using quotes without citations or using incorrect paraphrasing. The document notes that more detailed "HOW" pages on citing and referencing will be provided in the future.
2. Before You Begin
• IDEAS – This refers to any thought that is
expressed, arranged or recorded in any form:
spoken, written, drawn, carved, etc.
• USE or COPY – This refers to the act of using,
copying or borrowing ideas from any source.
• WORK(S) – This refers to what one writes,
arranges, records, or creates. This word is a
noun, which is different from the verb work.
(The plural form of this word is works.)

spelling, content, or formatting;
3.2 Use a real or live source that can
be found or accessed;
3.3 Use correct paraphrasing such as
