Jagdeep Singh Dangi created the first Hindi spell-check software called Saksham. The software works similar to the MS Word spell-check tool and has a database of 69,000 Hindi words. It is compatible with any Unicode-compliant Windows operating system and can also work with Microsoft Word. Previously, Jagdeep Singh Dangi worked on a multilingual project called Bhasha Setu that included features like a Hindi Internet browser, Hindi dictionary and translator, and more. His efforts aim to empower people at the grassroots level with technology and online information.

The software is a result of three years of dedicated work by Jagdeep Singh Dangi, Associate Professor
at the Centre for Technology Studies, School of Language, Mahatma Gandhi International University in
Wardha, Maharashtra. Unicodebased Devanagari Hindi spellcheck software called Saksham is compatible
with any Unicodecompliant Windows operating system can work with Microsoft Word also. It was launched
on Oct 29, 2013 at Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University.
Jagdeep Singh Dangi has earlier worked on a multilingual project ‘Bhasha Setu’ that encompasses the
following features:
Hindi Internet Browser (ibrowser++) with click for Hindi Translation.
Dictionary cum thesaurus (English to Hindi and viceversa) – Shabdkosh
Global Word Translator (English to Hindi) – Anuvaadak. It works both online and offline.
Jagdeep Singh Dangi has a vision to empower the people at the grassroots with the benefits of technology
and online information. His name was included in the Limca Book of Records for the Hindi language browser.
Such initiatives are a great boon in bridging the language barriers and digital divide.
