3. CONSUMER PRODUCTS
Mobile phones Nower days have been getting
increasingly better. Not only with the software that
they carry, but the camera they offer.
On phones you are now able to briefly edit any
images or videos that you take. It is a very simpled
down version of what the full industry's would be
using. The drawback of this is that it is still very limited
on what the user is able to do.
4. CONSUMER PRODUCTS
However the editing software that is now available at
home is only a few steps away from being the real
thing that industries us.
The majority use of these software's at the current
time is for editing videos before they are uploaded
on to YouTube. However the drawback of this is that
it can be reasonable pricey in order to have the
software in the first place.
5. SATELLITE
Satellite is artificial and is used to relay radio, television, and
telephonic signals. These are all then able to go around the
earth.
In 1957 on the 4th of October, the first human object
named Sputnik, from the Soviet Union, were the first to have
launched it into a low earth orbit.
Since then it has become a two way communications
device, to transmit signals to and from earth and much
more.
From that they had then created cable.
6. CABLE
Cable is a system of delivering television
programming . The signals are either transmitted
through coaxial cables or even light pulses through
fiber-obtic cables. There are many different servers
for this product.
7. CABLE PROS
• Cable internet is quick
• Cable internet has plenty of room to grow
• It is affordable
• Available in most markets today
• Reliability
8. CABLE CONS
• Fibre is faster than cable internet
• Wireless is faster without the cables
• There is now a lot of competition
9. ANALOGUE
Analogue is what the original television technology
used with analog signals to transmit video and audio.
The positive thing about using this is that it was
because it was the first of its kind, there wasn’t much
competition until the early 2000’s. The negative things
about this was that, the electronic noise and other
interference becomes reproduced by the receiver.
People didn’t want to have the switch over because
there wasn’t enough signal in the areas that they
where living in to get the full range of the digital TV.
But then analogue had got switched off in order to
make room for the new digital television.
10. DIGITAL
Digital is the way in which we are now able to watch
television. Now more than ever we are able to have
a wide variety of channels.
The big digital switchover in 2012 was to change
digital TV to high-definition TV
11. DIGITAL
Positives
• A wider range of
channel choices
• Offers a lot more
‘Red Button’
interaction
Negatives
• For houses with multiple TV
sets, this can be expensive
• Video equipment got
replaced
• DVD equipment will shortly
be replaced
• Causes some household
to require an aerial
upgrade
• If left on standby it can
eat a lot of power, costing
a lot of money.
12. INTERNET
In the 1960s the internet was first being created. Then
in 1969 the first Interface Message Processor was sent
to the UCLA. After this there were more and more
little things being created, some of what we are still
using now. HTML, and then the WWW in the 1990’s,
helped make the first graphical internet browser.
13. INTERNET
Since 2005 (when YouTube was created) the internet
has become a massive essential for a huge range of
people. And now more than 2 billion people wake up
to use the internet every day.

• Emails
• Access to information
• Shopping
• Online chats
• Downloading software
• Online games
Negatives
• Personal information
• Pornography
• Spamming
• Viruses and threats to the computer
• Easy bulling targets
15. INTERACTIVE
The internet is a very interactive place, consumers
are only able to go where their imagination allows
them.
Nearly anything on the internet is able to be
manipulated, such as the videos and movies, and
many photos.
16. INTERACTION
Even though the internet is an awesome place, and
there is so much to do, with watching legal and
illegal films. There can be side effects to using it.
Overall it isn’t an overly safe place for children. There
are thousands of pornographic sites on the Internet
that can be easily found and can be a detriment to
letting children use the Internet.
17. HIGH DEFINITION
Over the years the switch from analog to digital
television had then inspired a full range of high
definition television.
Since blue-ray DVD’s the at home movie and film
experience is spectacular. This is because its that
slight bit more high definition than the normal ones. It
comes with high definition; display, sound, and
smoother play.
18. HIGH DEFINITION
A negative to this is that only certain devices are able
to play these movies, however once the correct
device have been purchased the customer will not
want to go back.
Most people at the moment believe that soon blue
ray will replace the DVD’s, even thought they two
completely different formats and DVD’s are a lot
cheaper, people still tend to go for the higher
definition one. This if because they like to get the full
experience when watching a movie.
19. 3D
3D is quality TV that is being three-dimensional. To be
able to get the full experience from this the
audience member will have to be wearing specially
designed classes, in order to make the moving
images jump right out of the screen and what
seems like, straight into the viewers faces.
20. 3D
Although having 3D movies is truly amazing, the
glasses can start to make the viewer feel
uncomfortable after a certain amount of time
wearing them, ending in headaches and eye strain.
21. PAY PER VIEW
As technology has changed there are many different
ways in which people are able to consume media
texts. PPV is a type of service by which a subscriber
of a television service provider is able to purchase a
variety of events to view via a private telecast. One
of the most popular ones here would be the WWE
matches.
22. PAY PER VIEW
The positive about this is that the viewer are able to
access it via satellite, cable and over the television
internet services.
The negative to this however is that with a lot of
competition in this area there is not guarantee that
the customer will be staying, and may move on get
better deals with other companies that are offering
more.
This is rather similar to on demand viewing.
23. ON-DEMAND VIEWING
On-Demand viewing is a system that has been
created to allow the users to select and the watch or
listen to their chosen media content when ever they
chose to.
This is successful and is now enabling the users to be
able to catch up on the TV that they have missed at
a time that suits them.
And it is all delivered to the user via their internet
connection.
24. ON-DEMAND VIEWING
The positive things about this is that now the users are
able to set up anything to record weather they are
even in the house or not, and they are then able to
re watch them as many times as they like until the
user has removed it themselves.
However a minor drawback of this, is that on a few of
the devices that are able to do this, the user is only
able to record two programmes that are going to be
running at the same time. And not all televisions are
able to do this as of yet.
25. STREAMING CONTENT
Streaming content is when the media content is
delivered via the internet, for the users to watch.
The difference between streaming content and
downloading or recording content…
26. STREAMING CONTENT
Downloading or recording media content either from
on line or from the picture showing in the cinema is
that it is illegal.
Downing takes up a lot of time and isn’t always
successful, streaming on the other hand is fast and
instant.
27. STREAMING CONTENT
For the users to be able to do this, really is making the
internet a place when there are no limits. Nearly any
movie that has ever been made is available online
for little or at no cost.
However streaming can use up quiet a fair amount of
the internet and can also cause problems as it may
end out being a little more expensive in the long run.
28. DIGITAL RECORDERS
As the time has gone on we as users are now able to
go digital with any recordings of programmes and
films that have been on the television. With this we
are now able to watch them via LoveFilm, Netflix and
many more. They are giving the user a wide range of
choice on what they are to watch, at what ever time
suits them.
29. DIGITAL RECORDERS
The only negative about this is for the user to find the
best company that suits their need on what they
expect it can do. However each of these might be a
little too pricy for some people.
Other than that, the possibilities for what the user
wants to watch is endless, and with the right choice…
affordable!!
