New -- Bulletin to return to Monday publication
Note: All Bulletin requests must be submitted by close of business Thursday in order
to be used in the following Monday’s Bulletin. Monday Bulletin production will resume
at the end of mandated furloughs, now set for Monday, Aug. 19. Watch for a return to
normal hours of all furloughed activities after Friday, Aug. 16.
New -- Civilian employee needs annual leave assist
A Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security employee, Shari Dixon,
who works on the Fort Myer portion of the joint base, is an approved recipient of the
civilian personnel annual leave donor program. Due to medical issues, she has
exhausted both sick and annual leave.
Department of the Army civilian employees who would like to donate annual leave
to Dixon must fill out Form OPM 630A, "Request to Donate Annual Leave to Leave
Recipient Under the Voluntary Leave Transfer Program (Within Agency)" at
www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/opm630a.pdf.
If you are a federal government civilian employee outside the Department of the
Army and want to donate annual leave to Dixon, you must complete OPM 630B,

The Anger Management Workshop is every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. (next
workshop Aug. 14) on the Henderson Hall side of the Joint Base, Building 12 in the

New -- ‘Ruach Warrior’ bible study every Wednesday
The “Ruach Warrior” (Ruach is a Hebrew word meaning spirit of God) is a weekly,
non-denominational bible study. Held each Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to noon in the
chapel, Building 29, first floor, on the Henderson Hall side of the joint base, the next
gathering is Wednesday, Aug. 14. Refreshments will be served. Everyone is invited to
participate for lively discussion.

New -- Afternoon ‘Toastmasters’ help improve speaking skill
Would you like to improve your public speaking, listening or leadership skills? You
are nervous giving briefings, but would like to learn how to control the biggest fear of

New -- Furlough days/hours change to normal operations after Aug.

*The U.S. Army Health Clinic at Fort McNair will be closed Friday, Aug. 16, but
Monday, Aug. 19, they will return to normal hours of operation: Monday through
Friday, open from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For emergency services call 911 or go to the
nearest emergency room as the clinic is not equipped for emergencies.

3. *Rader Dental Clinic -- Rader Dental staff will have a final furlough day Friday, Aug.
16, and return to normal operations will be Monday, Aug. 19.

*The Pentagon's DiLorenzo Health Clinic notes changes in pharmacy hours: The
DiLorenzo TRICARE Health Clinic pharmacy is now closed from noon to 1 p.m. every
day. Weekdays: open from 7 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. (except the fourth
Thursday of the month). On the fourth Thursday of the month, the pharmacy will be
open from 7 to 11 a.m. Use of the DiLorenzo Pharmacy is limited to those who are
authorized to use military medical facilities and who have unescorted access to the
Pentagon.

New -- EMHD closure update
The Executive Management and Housing Directorate will be closed Friday, Aug. 16,
the normal business hours will resume Monday, Aug. 19. Family housing residents
should continue calling in service orders 24/7 to Meckley Services at 703-696-2623.
Barracks residents will continue calling service orders in to Public Works at 703-696-
3263.
Come shred with us, then e-recycle
The Directorate of Environmental Management is having a shredding event
Wednesday, Aug. 14. Then, Thursday, Aug. 15, there will be an electronics disposal
event.
Aug. 14, shredding will be at Building 29, Henderson Hall portion of the joint base
from 9 to 10 a.m.; at Building 59 (Fort Myer portion of JBM-HH) from 10 to 11 a.m.; and
Building 321, also at Fort Myer from 11 a.m. to noon.
Aug. 15, there will be an electronics recycle event from 9 to 11 a.m., Building 321 on
the Fort Myer portion of the joint base. No government equipment will be accepted;
large items such as CRT monitors and TVs cannot be accepted.

4. There will be an Exceptional Family Member Program presentation on “Exceptional

Women’s Equality Day to feature 5K run/walk
Women’s Equality Day will be celebrated Friday, Aug. 23 starting out from the
Fitness Center, Building 414 on the Fort Myer side of the joint base. The theme is
“Celebrating Women’s Right to Vote.”
Prizes will be awarded to first place runners and walkers and for the unit with the
most participation. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 100 registered personnel.
Refreshments will be provided. This is free and open to all military personnel, civilian
employees, Family members and retirees. Registration begins Aug. 5 at

Job search classes scheduled
The MCCS Career Resource Management Center has classes scheduled to assist
service members and their families with their job searches:
On Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon, learn how to market yourself for a second career.
On Aug. 22, “Cracking the Code to the Federal Hiring Process” is held from 1 to 3
p.m. This class explains how to apply for federal jobs, including how to prepare the
appropriate résumé.
Adecco will be on site Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to conduct a military spouse
career connections intake session. All sessions are in Building 29 on the Henderson Hall

“Hearts Apart” is a support group for spouses, fiancées, parents or significant others

Baby Bundles
Join us Thursday, Aug. 22 from noon to 2 p.m. for “Baby Bundles,” our next class for
couples or individuals expecting a child or with an infant under one year old. Class will
be in Building 201 on the Fort Myer side of the joint base. Participants will get
information on the labor and delivery process, newborn and mother care, home - infant
safety, and discuss strategies for navigating the change in relationship dynamics when a
child arrives. Each participant will receive a bag containing parenting resources, baby

6. Anger Management
An Anger Management (Introductory level presentation for adults) class is
Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the ACS classroom, Building 201, on the Fort

principles of emotions management, specific information about the impact of
unmanaged anger and get resources on how to recognize and manage the anger
triggers in your own life.
