Overview:
The services and deliverables provided by the Senior Java Developer will include the following:
Analytics and Design
Things you need to have:
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
8 years minimum of web application development and design.
XML, AJAX, Oracle database 11g, SQL, EJB, Eclipse, Maven, Hudson.
8 years minimum working with web architecture (Weblogic 11g, Apache, Web Services, J2EE).
Knowledgeable and experienced with Object-Oriented and Service-Oriented Architecture,
application architecture definition, applications design, business requirements gathering,
requirements analysis, and data modeling.
Team-oriented and shows initiative and creativity.
Excellent verbal and written communication and knowledge transfer skills.
Experience with portal architecture (preferably WebCenter Interaction 10gR3).
Experience with .NET an asset.
Technical Requirements: Java, J2EE, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, JSP, Javascript, HTML, CSS, XML,
AJAX, Oracle database 11g, SQL, EJB, Eclipse, Maven, Hudson.
What you will be doing:
Evaluates business requirements, use cases, and external designs, provide viable solutions,
determine the best option and create a systems design and implementation for the chosen
solution.
Determines technical feasibility and solutions with application owner(s).
Ensures that proposed and existing systems design is aligned with existing enterprise
architectures, organizational goals and objectives.
Provides accurate estimates for design and implementation effort on a per-project basis.
Models business and systems processes based on findings through use case scenarios,
workflow diagrams, and data models.
Creates functional and technical system design specifications: application and database designs.
Assists in establishing “Best Practices” programming standards and development processes.
Build and Test
Builds and implements functionally accurate and modular application programs according to
approved design specifications.
Coordinates and participates in code reviews to mentor other developers.
Formulates unit tests to test application software in development to ensure that a program’s
functionality matches its specification’s business requirements, and to ensure that the
organizations programming standards are followed.
Coordinates and supports the implementation of developed projects for production use.
Operate and Support
Regularly coordinates or participate in discussions with the application owner(s) to develop and
maintain applications or enhancements that meet business needs.
Manages and supports the maintenance of systems developed in-house, including “troubleshooting”,
defect fixing, change requests, designing, and implementing sound solutions.
Provides, maintains, and updates technical documentation to reflect new applications or
enhancements to existing applications.
Provides skills transfer or assistance to other team members to improve product
quality, performance, and to ensure standards are implemented.
Problem-solves and thinks strategically as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the
project.
Prioritizes own workload effectively and multitasks several concurrent projects at any given time.

2. Deliverables include (but are not limited to) development artifacts to support the following
examples of products/solutions:
Develop a new online Maturity Model tool that is integrated with the organization's website
portal to serve partners and their staff.
o Presents a simple, consistent and effective tool for physicians and sponsored users to
conduct self-assessment on records use and progress surveys with the ability to keep track
of assessments completed.
o Tracks gap analysis and action plans of each user or group to implement the changes to
move to more advanced levels of use.
o Data mining to allow benchmarking and enabling of comparative analysis with peers,
groups and other jurisdictions
o Provide interactive and user-friendly reports that will gain company-wide visibility into the
status of gaps and track related process metrics that will effectively communicate the
maturity levels of the program.
