2. ArƟst Isabelle Arpagian Joins The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, Coming to New York City in
April 2014
New York, NY –Charente, France, 2014 – Isabelle Arpagian is pleased to partner with The Fabergé Big
Egg Hunt, an innovaƟve and engaging fundraising initiaƟve that will see over 250 large egg sculptures –
each designed by globally renowned arƟsts, designers and creaƟves - placed throughout New York
City’s five boroughs from April 1st
to 26th
, 2014.
« Empress II » is award-winning arƟst Isabelle Arpagian’s contribuƟon to theFabergé Big Egg Hunt (FBEH). 55 cm
tall (22 inches), the egg’s design is inspired by Marie AntoineƩe’s boudoir at Fontainbleau. The porcelain base is
enveloped in 24-carat gold,and is painted with exoƟc birds and mythical characters using historical techniques
and images which Arpagian researched to realize this one-of-a-kind masterpiece. A clear reference to Peter Carl
Fabergé’s creaƟons for the Imperial Family of Russia, the egg opens to reveal a red velvet and gold-thread
embroidered cushion ready to nest a preciousgiŌ! Marie-AntoineƩe’s favorite dessert was the
macaroon and so Arpagian’s egg is fiƫngly on display at Ladurée’s Madison Avenue Store.
The general public will be encouraged to parƟcipate by finding all of the eggs, with incredible
gemstone prizes from Fabergé serving as an incentive. The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt will culminate with a
spectacular aucƟon of the collecƟble and one-of-a-kind egg sculptures, held by Sotheby’s and online
via Paddle8.
Created as an innovaƟve and engaging plaƞorm to raise funds for Elephant Family and other non-
profits, The Fabergé Big Egg Hunt caused a frenzy in London in 2012, set two Guinness World Record
Ɵtles and ulƟmately raised over $1.5 million for charity. The 2014 hunt in New York will benefit both
Elephant Family and Studio in a School.

Isabelle ARPAGIAN est une artiste franco allemande, reconnu et médaillée à plusieurs reprises
en France et Allemagne et qui expose a travers le monde. Née en 1972 à Hambourg, Allema-
gne ; elle passe son enfance en Asie du Sud Est. De retour en Europe elle poursuit ses études à
l’Ecole Arts Décoratif à Vienne, Autriche et dans plusieurs ateliers spécialisés à Paris. Ainsi parti-
cipe aux concours en 2011 " Un des meilleures Ouvriers de France" .
Elle voyage dans le monde entier à la quête de la réalisation d’œuvres uniques et revient
toujours à sa source en France dans son vaste atelier près de Cognac en Charente.
Les œuvres sont réalisées sur mesure pour des commanditaires et collectionneurs d'art. Entre les
réalisations d’ œuvres monumentales comme une chapelle entièrement crée et peinte, un
boudoir avec 25 œuvres peintes sur feuilles de palladium pour un château en Allemagne , des
fresques rendant hommage au grand verrier américain Tiffany pour un collectionneur de
vitraux anciens et des œuvres d'art peintes pour la Maison de joailliers et horlogers de luxe "
Wempe " a Pékin, Chine ou pour " Elysées Horlogerie" à Paris.
Cette année 2013, Isabelle Arpagian est invitée au Metropolitan Private Club a New York pour
son exposition et une vente aux enchères de ses dernières créations. Son œuvre "Impératrice"
, constitue l'un des coups de cœurs de la vente aux enchères à Drouot "L'Œuf dans tous ses
états " organise par la FAVA, a laquelle elle a participé parmi d’autres personnalités comme
Victor et Rolf, Doris Kloster, Luc Ferry, Valérie Lemercier .
La chaine ARTE a consacré également une émission sur son atelier en 2012 et 2013. FRANCE 5
sera aussi au rendez vous cette année pour documenter et diffuser la réalisation de la gran-
diose chapelle peinte pendant plusieurs mois en France réalisée pour un de ses clients.
En 2010 elle a reçu les félicitations du Ministre de la Culture pour la réalisation des 25 panneaux
peints inspirés du Boudoir de Marie-Antoinette à Fontainebleau, exposés aux Carrousel du
Louvre. Cette même année la collection est partie à Berlin au Schloss Charlottenburg où les
œuvres peintes étaient exposées et reçues avec grand succès.
Isabelle ARPAGIAN
Isabelle Arpagian is a Franco-German artist, a recognized and recurring medalist in France and
Germany, and has exhibited worldwide. Born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1972, Arpagian spent her
childhood in South East Asia . Returning to Europe she continued her studies at the School of
Decorative Arts in Vienna, Austria, and in several specialized workshops in Paris. In 2011 she parti-
cipated in the world – renown competition "Best craftsperson and artist of France ."
She travels the world creating unique artworks for historical castles, private homes and art
collectors. Among her achievements of monumental works, Arpagian created and painted an
entire chapel in France. She also completed a version of « The Four Seasons, » for a private
castle in Germany. This installation was based on the boudoir of Marie Antoinette at Fontaine-
bleau, and included over 25 painted panels. Using palladium leaves in the interpretation, Arpa-
gian employed historical techniques and pigments of the 18th century. This installation was
acknowledged by the French Minister of Culture in 2010, and in the same year the collection of
panels was exhibited at the Schloss Charlottenburg in Berlin where the collection was well recei-
ved by critics and the press.
In 2013 Arpagian was commissioned by a private art collector to design and paint an entire
villa. In the dining room of this villa are original Tiffany stained-glass windows and Arpagian was
asked to paint a mural to complement the windows. The hand-painted mural is a tribute to one
of the great American artists.
Her art works art can also be seen in the houses for luxury watchmakers and jewelers : « WEMPE »
( Paris, New York and Beijing) or " Elysées Horlogerie " on the Champs Elysées in Paris.
The television channel ARTE has devoted a program on her unique talent. FRANCE 5 is filming a
documentary of the painted chapel painted in France.Arpagian participated with Victor and
Rolf, Doris Kloster , Luc Ferry, Valérie Lemercier for an important auction at Drouot Paris, « The Egg
in all its forms ». Her golden egg "Empress " painted on 24 Carat Gold was one of the favorite
pieces . Faberge was also inspired by her creation and has invited Isabelle ARPAGIAN to partici-
pate in the « The Big Egg Hunt » in New York, in 2014.
Tonight this exceptional 24 carat golden egg, « Empress ,» is a personal gift from the artist to the
French Heritage Society and to the New York Chapter for having invited her in the Metropolitan
Private Club in New York for supporting not only Franco American heritage but also emerging
artist.
