Common Terminology
● CPM (Cost Per M). M represents the Roman numeral for 1000 (i.e., it is cost
per thousand impressions).
● CPC (Cost Per Click). the sum you gain every time a client taps on your
notice
● RPM (Rate Per M). or was known as eCPM (Income per thousand
impressions)
● CTR (The click through rate) is the quantity of commercial snaps isolated by
the quantity of impressions, online visits, or questions you got. CTR decides
how frequently the guests click your promotions.

- High engagement because it provide rewards to users
and high CTR for publisher, win win solution
Cons:
- Needs to be designed carefully to keep the balance
between monetization & user experience (especially in
game)
Best Practices
● Pay attention to the pointcuts and placement of your ads
● Experiment with different kind of ad formats to find the most effective ads
● Pay attention to Age Rating as Ads is part of your app, you don’t want to
show ads that have adult content if your apps is designed for kids
● In house ads in admob: easy and free way to promote your app and get
users by cross promoting on your own apps
● Follow the policy and be in the boundary, violation may results in account
suspension

  • 3. Common Terminology ● CPM (Cost Per M). M represents the Roman numeral for 1000 (i.e., it is cost per thousand impressions). ● CPC (Cost Per Click). the sum you gain every time a client taps on your notice ● RPM (Rate Per M). or was known as eCPM (Income per thousand impressions) ● CTR (The click through rate) is the quantity of commercial snaps isolated by the quantity of impressions, online visits, or questions you got. CTR decides how frequently the guests click your promotions.
  • 4. Advertising on Your Apps How to: - Choose and register/setup an advertising account - Implement Ads/integrate ads SDK - Create and insert ad units
  • 6. Ads Formats: Banner Pros - Easy to create - Cost Effective - Less intrusive Cons: - Not visually compelling - Low engangement (low CTR)
  • 7. Ads Formats: Native Ads Pros - Looks natural to the app design - Not disrupting user experience - Easily customized from server without update on clients Cons: - Difficult to produce - More technical requirements
  • 8. Ads Formats: Interstitial Pros - High conversion rate Cons: - More intrusive to users since it force users to view full screen ads
  • 9. Ads Formats: Rewarded Ads Pros - High engagement because it provide rewards to users and high CTR for publisher, win win solution Cons: - Needs to be designed carefully to keep the balance between monetization & user experience (especially in game)
  • 10. Best Practices ● Pay attention to the pointcuts and placement of your ads ● Experiment with different kind of ad formats to find the most effective ads ● Pay attention to Age Rating as Ads is part of your app, you don’t want to show ads that have adult content if your apps is designed for kids ● In house ads in admob: easy and free way to promote your app and get users by cross promoting on your own apps ● Follow the policy and be in the boundary, violation may results in account suspension
