- even if adult content is after Social Networks on the top of the search engines scores every year it's still pretty difficult to combine these - despite the constantely increasing traffic and turnover in adult ind., this topic is still taboo and only a small fraction of people working in this business is open to speak about it, - the adult industry is already for ages as professional as many other industries in the online business, and is not doing anything else than satisfying the humans needs -it's always difficult to run an advertisement for erotic and adult offers, actually in some countries it is difficult to find and to use those offers even for the interested persons - we really would like to bring this service to the users but its almost impossible to get the best (or even good) advertising spaces - SEM itself is looking at the adult offers in a different way than at the mainstream and by Social Media it is even more complicated
By the first slide let´s talk a little bit about what adult industry brought to the internet: - adult content „captured“ the internet almost over night and the erotic pictures and texts made the Newsgroups , Usenet and Chats really popular - from the beggining the adult industry recognized the importance of new technologies, and until now is investing a huge amount of money and resources into the development of new technologies and is progressive and up to date; is bringing inventions let´s mention some of the important contributions of adult industry - Adult industry also brought the first affiliate programs and contributed to their extension, and right now in the wild watters of E-Comerce the affiliate programms are more than important (revshare high) - but what about Social Media – unfortunatelly only in the social networks sector it was really difficult from the beggining to break through and to ensure a stable position on the market and thats why today it is really hard to promote the erotic content via the social media channels i guess we will never find out who is to blame for it, maybe we could ask Mark Zuckerberg
- Sponsored Tweets, Facebook Ads and many more are really great channels for advertising, but unfortunatelly the erotic content is not accepted, so this possibility is completelly falling off - the most of the Social Networks have strict rules concerning erotic content and make no exceptions ; reported contents result in banning of the accounts wich means sometimes loss of moths of hard work ; there are just few of Social Networks open to the erotic content like tumblr, but its really not much - feminists, churches or populists protest against any kind of erotic content not only in traditional media but of course also in internet - if they focuse for example on a Fansite it means acctually one hundert per cent certainty of banning of the site , even if you follow all rules... in simple terms there is no lobby for adult business (mozna priklad z nemecka) - the two most popular Social Medial Channels (Facebook & Youtube) don´t even like „naked (visible) Skin“ , it means acctually less than it is allowed to show in TV spots during the day times (FA reklama / Clavin); the suggestion of a sexual act itself is banned - there are many other sticking points as for example the so called Jugendschutz in Germany – on .de Domains or other domains owned by German company is allowed max. Toples content, to see every other kind of content the user has to verify him self
- just like in the conventional Mainstream-Marketing the story telling is an important element in social media marketing ; to excite the interests and emotions of the users is important in every industry and in adult entertainment is the curiosity even higher -its always difficult to promote directly the adult products like for example Pay-Sites ; what works in social media, is to place persons or stories to the front, lets say in this case an actress ; news and information about a popular actress are interesting for each fan and it builds a relationship between the actress and the user and calls to interaction right here it is worth to share everyday stories, wich have nothing to do with the business ; a peek into the normal life , the users like to explore the person behind the star and exactly by those postings the users are open to write comments and give likes without restraints, (example with amateur and coffee) - in the mainstream you can choose which channels you will use to promote your products, because you can promote them without restrictions; in adult entertainment you have no chance, even though the targeted users are everywhere you can not promote the project directly, so in adult industry you are forced to use every possible channel and not to focus only on some of them - as i allready mentioned its difficult to approach directly the targeted users or buy ads , it means in the adult industry the word networking is even more important; and thats why in our industry the borders between the competition and business partnership are really thin (priklad z veletrhu) - it is not worth to try to break the rules of the networks or to try to find some loopholes ; in most of the cases it is only a waste of time and the risk of banning of the accounts is really high ; its always better to invest the time and energy into the creation of a good and interesting content ; and we can hope that one time the rules will change and we will be able to spend our money also in social networks
