One crucial component of market research is the attempt to predict consumer behavior. While such attempts are narrowly focusing on final purchase behavior, no known tool yet predicts whether a message will be perceived in the first place. To better model actual consumer behavior, there is a need for focusing on each incremental step in the consumer behavior process. eye2D2™ does exactly this: it predicts the visual saliency of an image – what we call Visual Magnetism™. When you look at an image, the items that are selected during the initial split seconds are the most salient parts of the image. eye2D2™ predicts what part of an image will grab your customers’ attention and draw them in, or whether the image itself will be salient in the jungle of images. eye2D2™ is based on past decades of research on the human visual system. Today, the human visual system is by far the best understood system of the human brain. This understanding is so advanced that it is possible to put certain parts of human vision onto a mathematical formula. For bottom-up attention – which is a key ingredient in Visual Magnetism™ – this is possible. For other processes, such as higher-level cognition (e.g. reading and facial recognition) and top-down attention (e.g. motivated search) this is currently under development. Crucially, eye2D2™ has been thoroughly validated by direct comparisons with high-resolution eye-tracking. These results are exciting because, eye2D2™ has an over 80% accuracy compared to eye-tracking. This is the same result as when an eye-tracking study is done on two independent samples. Due to its mathematical nature, eye2D2™ provides several benefits that outperforms traditional methods: - Fast: analysis results in minutes to hours, instead of weeks to months - Scalable: ability to seamlessly process unlimited images or videos - Reliable: scientifically validated to predict over 80% of eye-tracking results - Usability: works by uploading an image to a dedicated folder, results provided in minutes to hours. Works on all platforms - Mobile: works on all mobile devices and platforms - Inexpensive: costs are a fraction of eye tracking and other traditional research methods
