This document summarizes the filming of a music video at the filmmaker's first location, which was near their house. It took the longest to film as most scenes were shot there. There were many reshoots needed due to blurry shots, which took up time. Working with friends as actors was enjoyable but also challenging as they often joked around between takes. Overall, the filmmaker was happy with the quality of the shots captured at this first location despite some technical issues during filming.
1. This was the firstlocation that we filmed with an Itwas firstlocation that I had
decided on as it was a location that I am very familiar with and have filmed
once before and as it is a location that Is next to my house so we were able to
film and finish withouthaving to walk a far distance. Though it was a close
location, it was the longest one to film as one; mostof the scenes in the music
video were filmed here (Scene 1, 2, 7, 8, 9) so Itis the main location for filming
which is why I choseit as Location 1. The second reason is because of how
many mistakes there wereduring filming, there were a lot of blurry shots so
there had to be many reshoots which took too much time to do and risked me
as both the filmer and editor running out of time to get the final cut finished.
The
first
scene took a while as I have to admit I am not the bestat telling actors what
they have to do, all I do is tell them briefly but luckily for me they understood
that and also asked what they had to do to try and get the shot to the best,
there were also a lot of takes in different types of shots to get the one that will
work the best, so if the original was a Mid shotfrom the back as they walk, I’d
try out a tracking as well in case it works, somewould work and somewouldn’t
so It’s worth giving it a shot.
For this location, I filmed all of the shots in one go as it wouldn’thave been the
best going fromone location to another then back to the same location, as
that this scene is wheremost happens, I reckoned that it would take away a lot
of their energy away for when I would actually need them, and I think it would
2. be a good idea justto get the shots over and done with which is always a good
idea.
The worstthing about the filming as with always during my filming is having
the actors mess around, as I would always tell them to do one thing then they
would ignore it and justjokeand do something different, though the next time
is that they would get back to being serious. Itdid get
quite annoying as no matter what I said, they would still
contiune to mess around and then startbeing serious but
as they arefriends, I don’t really know whatI expect as it’s
not the best to work with friends but it doesn’tmean that
I didn’t enjoy working with. Though I said it was the worst
thing about working with friends, to be honestit was also
the bestthing about the filming as it was really enjoyable,
I managed to get a lot of good laughs fromthe filming,
they would only mess around if they knew they had
enough time to, like on the third location (Which I’lltouch
upon in the third photo diary) we were in a rush so no one
messed around, so overall it was a good filming and from
looking at the shots I think they worked out very well and
came out in good qualility, somewere abit shaky during
the trackig shots but other than that they came out quite
well and I’mhappy with the finished products.
