A workshop on Android Application Development was organized in our college on the 29th and 30th September 2012 in association with security Guru, which is a sister concern of Sandrock eSecurity a Delhi based IT Solution company.
Objective of Workshop: To enrich the knowledge of student in the field of Android Application and its development through demonstrations and hand-on sessions.

Objective of the Workshop
•To enrich the knowledge of students in the field of Android Application and its
development through demonstrations and hand-on sessions.
•Participants: Students from 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year participated in the
workshop from IEC as well as 4 different colleges.
•The first day of the workshop started with modules providing a detailed theory
of JAVA programming language and introduction to ANDROID.
•The second day was utilized by students in making applications of button
development applying counter to those buttons

Key Learning's
• Students were able to configure ANDROID SDK with Eclipse and implementing the
things practically brought immense satisfaction and developed interest amongst
the students with respect to the workshop
• By the end of the workshop every student was able to explore his/her skills in
developing 3-4 applications.
• Many applications were demonstrated like configuring Android SDK, creating
buttons, creating Calculator application, creating SMS application, creating Hello
World Application by trainer Mr. Niranjan Bautola from Security Guru.

Technical Exposure
• The students learnt a lot about JAVA and Android Application Development.
• The workshop was different from other workshops in the market as it focused
completely on the basic building blocks of an Android application.
• Details of JAVA programming which in itself is not an easy topic to learn, but still the
participants showed great enthusiasm and willingness to learn the things taught in the
workshop to their best.
