If business owners wanted to be media gurus they would have opened a publishing company. Unless that is the type of business they are running it is not their forte and it shouldn’t be. A good business owner knows that in order to get the job done well you need to hire workers that know how to do the job. They do not have the time or expertise to get the most out of social media.
A boss that has no, or limited knowledge of social media will generally feel that they are unable to control the process and may feel reluctant to leave the management in the hands of employees that do not have experience and knowledge in this field. Having a management company that they are confidant in will put them more at ease and allow them to focus on other important tasks.
The speed at which the internet, and therefore social media marketing, is growing is setting new precedents. Never before in history have we seen a market expand so quickly. According to a report on Yuraki.com by Robyn-Dale Samuda, it took radio 38 years to reach 50 million users, television took 13 years to achieve the same milestone and in 9 months Facebook not only reached this milestone, but doubled it.
The cost for Facebook ads is 1/128 of newspaper ads. This gives much more power to the marketing department to reach such a significantly higher number of customers, on a much more frequent basis, without going over their budget.
How does one decide which site, or sites, to focus on? The site(s) chosen depends on what service the company offers and what the goal is for using social media. The setting of goals and proper research will help to determine what and where a client would see the best return for their investment.
The social media door is open and waiting for IT and marketing professionals to walk through. This is probably the strongest tool for branding and marketing in the history of advertising. NW Technology already has one foot in the door with the services they are currently providing. Business owners and managers to not want to bring in yet another company that may or may not get the job done. They already have faith in you. Both NW Technology and their clients would benefit from this venture.
