How did you attract/address
     your audience?
There was my final front cover, I use buzz and
pull words to attract my audience, whilst using
an informal mode of address to talk to the
reader. I also use the same font throughout my
magazine to keep it flowing, yet on the front
cover I have words in red with a stroke of yellow
(for example) to really stand out to the reader
on the shelf. I use a black and white image so
that the text on the page stands out more,
jumping out to the reader. I also use words such
as ‘Exclusive’ and ‘Free’, to really attract the
audience and show them that they are getting
the best from this magazine.
This my rough cut before my final piece, after
hearing my audience feedback I immediately
decided to make to sub headings more exciting
and attractive to the reader grabbing there
attention.
There was my contents, by straight away using a
large masthead saying ‘Contents’ it immediately
tells the reader what this is, then by the use of
images with page numbers it makes the page more
exciting and attractive to the audience. Whilst still
giving enough information with sub-headings down
the side using informal language to talk to the
reader as through research that is more how my
target audience will speak, so they will feel this
magazine speaks to them more. Furthermore whilst
keeping the colour scheme and the font going it
keeps the magazine flowing nicely from page to
page.
This my contents page before audience
feedback, after audience feedback I decided to
add text beneath my sub-headings to give extra
information to the reader. I also decided to add
a light grey background for more colour and so
the text and images stand out more.
My layout and structure for my double page-spread
really challenges conventions. Yet this is what I was
hoping to achieve as I wanted to grab the readers
attention and make this as interesting as possible.
By putting the image just over half a page it is
immediately what the reader will look at, also by
using a pull quote next to it, it will draw the reader
in. Furthermore although this piece is conventional
I still keep the colour scheme and font the same to
keep the magazine flowing. Again I keep the mode
of address informal to be able to talk to my
audience easily keeping it flowing.
After hearing my audience feedback I
immediately decided to add more text and put it
inside the ‘C’ to challenge conventions and
really jump out to the reader. By doing both
these things it hopefully made my piece more
interesting.
Audience feedback from Sophie Dilger
      on Double Page Spread.
I think it’s really good what you’ve done so far, I
like the colour scheme and how you’ve put the
images behind the big ‘C’ to make it more
exciting. If I had one criticism I would say you
could add some more text? I really like the
layout though. Well done.
