2. Very Effective – Being water based, Fertan forces its way into overlaps, seams, double skinning, welds and even paint blisters before destroying the rust and leaving a protective metal bond underneath. Fertan provides all the benefits of shot blasting with no surface damage or material loss. Environmentally friendly - Fertan is a water based, non toxic, complex patented tannic acid product. ( No Isocyanides or high volatiles). Safe to Use – Fertan is harmless to plastic, rubber, chrome and already painted surfaces. Fertan is only active in contact with rust or iron. It can be washed off from any other surface by water. It is non flammable, harmless to health, physical contact or inhalation. Ideal Paint Base – The prepared metal surface can be left from a few days to up to 6 months before applying further treatments. Surface should be rinsed with water to remove any black dust arising from the conversion of rust. Fertan can be over coated with oil or water based paints, epoxy, lacquer, wax....... What is Fertan? – Fertan is a water based product that penetrates rust, dissolves it and detaches it from the metal surface leaving a blackened layer that prevents further rusting. The resulting black powder can be washed off ready for over coating. Simple to Use – Remove lost rust, grease, oil and dirt with a brush, dry cloth, water blaster or similar. Apply the fertan with a brush, roller sponge or spray gun. After one hour dampen the treated surface (not necessary in damp conditions) and allow 24 hours for the Fertan to work (48 hours in temperatures below 12 °C).(Do not use in temperatures below freezing) Before using Fertan After using Fertan
3. When it comes to rust proofing, it is important to remember that the finished product is only as good as the preparation allows it to be. All surfaces should always be degreased and de-rusted before coating. Tank- Interior coating
4. UBS 220 is a underbody schutzwachs or protection wax PVC free, water-based, transparent with an amber tint. Successive coats strengthens this amber tint allowing you to be certain which areas you have sprayed and so ensuring that everything is properly coated. UBS 220 maintains its flexibility indefinitely. The original UBS 120 coatings are still in service at fifteen years and showing no change. UBS 220 will be even longer lasting. It is the ideal protective coating for vehicle underbodies, giving first class long term protection even in arduous conditions. UBS 220 adheres well to steel, fertanised surfaces or painted surfaces. UBS 220 cannot be overpainted as it is a wax based product and paints etc. will not adhere to it. Some classic vehicle renovators need the chassis and underside of the vehicle to appear painted. This is easily achieved in one of two ways: 1) Use Fertan rust converter and then apply your paint 2) Use Fertan rust converter and then follow through with either Ferpox or Over4 and then apply your colour coats.
