Several biomes are found in this type of
climate.
• Tropical rain forests (Rainforest)
• Wet-Dry Tropical Climates (Savanna)
• Dry Tropical Climate (Desert)

6. Tropical rain forests
(Rainforest)
• is characterized by huge amounts of
rainfall
• contains the most number of plant and
animals

7. Dry Tropical
climate(Desert)
• are found on the western coasts
of continents
• trade winds start to originate from
these locations and go toward the
equator

8. TROPICAL GRASSLANDS)
• areas that get low to moderate
amounts of precipitation found
along the edges of tropical
deserts
• only grasses, shrubs and a few
small trees grow in these areas

9. TEMPERATE ZONE
(GROUP II CLIMATE: Midlatitude
Climate)

10. Temperate Zone
• is characterized by the four
changing seasons, namely: spring,
summer, autumn or fall and winter
• found between 30˚-60 ˚latitudes
north and south of the equator
• includes forests, grasslands and
deserts

climates (Steppes)
• described to be
semiarid and covered
in grass because it
receives little rainfall

climates (Chaparral Biome)
• characterized by wet winters and
dry summers

13. Mid continental
climates (Deciduous Forest)
• The plants that shed their
leaves on autumn (fall) are
known as deciduous trees,
thus the name deciduous
forests.

(GROUP III CLIMATE: High-Latitude
Climate)

• Polar zones are also called
arctic climates due to yearlong
cold climate with no summer.
• This zone include the ice caps of
Greenland and Antarctica.

16. BOREAL FOREST
CLIMATE (Taiga Biome)
• Taigas are one of the largest biomes.
• also called a coniferous forest
because most plants are conifers
(cone-bearing plants)

17. TUNDRA
• They are characterized by long
and severe winter seasons, which
create frozen ground known as
permafrost.
