1. HID Lights for Total Safety on Road
The Need for Total Safety on Roads
The need for total safety on roads is born of visibility. The human eye is
meant to see best in daylight conditions. Daylight has a color
temperature of 4300k. It therefore follows that the headlights on our
automobiles must have a similar color temperature in order that safe
conditions prevail on our roads. Unfortunately, this has not been the case
so far. The standard halogen lights generate a color temperature of only
around 2300k. Motorists have therefore been driving under unsafe
conditions till now. However, recently there has been a great invention in
the field of automobile lighting. This is the invention of High Intensity
Discharge or HID kits.
The Revolutionary Concept of HID Kits
There are HID bulbs inside HID kits. The HID bulbs work on the
principle of a stabilized discharge between two electrodes of tungsten
immersed in a medium of Xenon gas. This discharge has a color
temperature upwards of 4300k. For this reason alone HID kits are the
safest for use in automobiles. However, there are several other reasons
too that make the use of HID conversion kit absolutely mandatory from
the point of view of road safety.
HID kits result in an illumination that is 300% more than what one gets
from standard halogen kits. The HID bulb also consumes 35% less
power compared to the halogen bulb. This means that your automobile
battery is under reduced load when the HID kit is fitted. Further, HID
bulbs last far longer. On an average the HID bulb lasts for up to ten
years or 3000 hours of use. The halogen bulbs do not have comparable
figures. The HID kits also enhance the looks of the automobiles on
which these are installed.
2. The HID Conversion Kit
The HID conversion kit consists of two HID bulbs, two ballasts and
two brackets for mounting the ballasts. There is a HID kit for the Acura
and Audi, the BMW and Buick besides Dodge, Daihatsu, Ferrari and
Hummer among most other automobiles on our roads today. It is easy to
find out the equivalent HID bulb for your automobile by checking up the
bulb guide.
The HID conversion kit is covered under warranty for a year, two years
or lifetime depending upon your choice. The installation of this kit is
simple and no splicing is involved. Therefore, specialist help will
generally not be necessary. However, in case required one can place an
order for an installation video kit for assistance.
Color Temperatures
HID kits are associated with color temperatures such as 3000k, 6000k
and 8000k. 3000k is for yellow color while 6000k represents bright
white color and 8000k, light blue color. When you place an order for
HID kits you will need to consider this factor. Finally, since the kits are
dispatched from within the US you will receive the order within a couple
of days. For more information please visit, www.hidnation.com
