Aircraft Parts N Supplies, Quarterly Newsletter, Monday,
Monday, July 13 th, 2015.
Quarter Summary
The Quarter ended with the maiden flight of the new Bell 525 Helicopter, which flew for the first time in Amarillo, TX, while it
had started with the Duncan Aviation Seminar held in Dallas on 7th
April. At the Duncan aviation event we were given several
presentations on Next Gen and the FAA 2020 Mandate. Then there was the MRO held in Miami, FL from 13 th to 16th
April, and
then the FAA Rotorcraft Safety Seminar held in Hurst, TX, on 22ndApril.
I had the chance to attend all these three events and I found them to be very informative, educative and a great opportunity
to network with other peers in the industry.
The main one was the Miami MRO as it covered all areas of Aviation, from Aircraft Manufacturers to Engine Manufacturers,
and also including other manufacturers of Airframe components and Avionics, and not to mention all the other major and small
Repair organizations, Parts suppliers’, distributors, and all other Aviation related service providers.
What’s new at APnS?
 We managed to get a wheel & brake partner, this has increased our wheel & brake capability , we can now handle
nearly all types of wheels & brake ( including Military Aircraft ) as long as we can get the CMM , so we now provide total
wheel & brake service, supplying Parts, repair and Overhaul services.
 We also have now an APU shop we are working with. We now have APU capability, we won’t even charge to check your
APU, just ship the APU to our shop, we will examine it at no cost to you, if you decide to have it fixed we will give you
the best deal, and if you don’t want it fixed, we just return it to you, at zero cost, a deal you can’t refuse!
 We also have Emergency equipment repair capability; we are dealing with a highly reputable shop with lots of
experience and extremely high standards of safety, workmanship and high Quality work.
 We also entering into some agreements with a leading Cessna dealer (the third largest in the Country), so we now have
a very big access to Cessna & Lycoming parts.
 We are also going to have a Sales Rep in the Middle East, who will be based in Dubai; this will enhance our service
delivery in the region. And we also also working with someone to handle our business in Asia.
 We are also now doing the F-16 and the C-130.
 We have also managed to get a very reliable supplier of non-spare part hardware items likes; rivets, bolts, nuts, o-rings,
screws, grommets, clamps, e.t.c, including the BAC Partner Numbers, so we can comfortably handle all your hardware
needs at our very competitive prices, just give us the Part Number and Quantity needed, and we shall do the rest.
 We are no longer doing Pilot Supplies (Sorry Pilots’), Parts are too much, but we still do Headsets, and we would be
happy to refer you to our Supplier Partners for anything you might need.
 We also have the capability now to develop wiring harnesses; we teamed up with a leading Aircraft Cable manufacturer.
We can arrange the repair and manufacture of many different types of harnesses for many different types Aircraft, just
give us the Part number, this includes EGT’s, and thermocouples.
 We are working out an agreement with a leading Composite Inspection firm and hopefully we should be coming up with
a detailed workable agreement quite soon.
 Also we are working up an agreement with a Capital Firm and insurance so that we can be able to finance high Capital
Parts and Components, both for lease, Purchase and Sale.
 On the financial side we are now doing the irrevocable letter of credit, so our international customers (and even
domestic customers), don’t have to worry about losing their funds or not receiving what they order from us. These are
bank guaranteed international documents so both parties are equally protected.
Some MRO Outlook Statistics :

shown below
 A 320
 B 737-NG
 B 737-200/-300
 B 777
 Cessna Caravan
 Dash 8
 B 767
 B 747
 Emb 145 / 175 and 195
As for the Engines, the order

 CFM 56-3
 CF34
 CFM 56-7B
 V2500
 PT-6A-114A
 CF6-80C2
 GE 90
 CFM56 & V2500 Expected to be main drive of the MRO market in 2015
 Expect an increase in Engine MRO due to narrow body Aircraft delivery, especially
the B737-NG & A320, which are mainly powered by the CFM56-5B, CFM-56-7B and
the V2500-A5.
 Expect a decline in the CFM56-3 due to the continued retiring of the B737-Classic,
but if the fuel prices stay low, expect the rate of decline to be less steep.
 Also the CF6-80C2, which powers the A310 and the B767, will continue to power
them and remain in the market as long as fuel prices are still low.
 Since A 320’s & B 737NG’s have a steady rate of production the CF56-7B and the
CFM56-5B will still continue to demand MRO services.
 Expect to see a slight upward tick in the CF6-80C2 used parts in the after sales
market, as they start retiring.
 The CFM56-5B is the engine of choice for the A 320
 The used Parts market is worth about $ 3.5 BN, and engine parts make almost 60
% of that market.
Next Quarter we shall feature the Avionics MRO Outlook Forecast.

A few of the AD’s effective in July
Date Applicability Reason
Effective July 21st 2015 A318/A319/A320/A321 This AD was prompted by a report of corrosion found during the manufacturing process for some
oxygen pipe assemblies that are use to supply oxygen to the flight crew. This AD requires an inspection
to determine the batch number or installation date of the This AD requires an inspection to determine
the batch number or installation date of the oxygen pipe assembly. It is being issued to detect corrosion
which can cause blockage of Oxygen supply to flight crew and it may even cause fire in the cockpit.
Effective July 23 rd, 2015. B767/B 777 This AD was prompted by reports of uncommanded door closure of a large lower lobe cargo door. This
AD requires inspecting for part numbers and serial numbers of the rotary actuators of the forward and
aft large lower lobe cargo doors. It is being issued to detect and correct rotary actuators made with a
material having poor actuator gear wear characteristics, which could result in failure of the rotary
actuators for the forward or aft large lower lobe cargo doors and subsequent uncommanded door
closure, which could possibly result in fatal injury to people on the ground.
Effective July 21st, 2015 B 777 ( All Series) This new AD requires repetitive freeplay inspections and lubrication of the right and left elevators,
rudder, and rudder tab, and related investigative and corrective actions if necessary. It was was
prompted by the manufacturer's determination that the procedure for the rudder freeplay inspection
does not properly detect excessive freeplay in the rudder control load loop. It is being issued to detect
and correct excessive wear in the load loop components of the control surfaces, which could lead to
excessive freeplay of the control surfaces, flutter, and consequent loss of control of the airplane.
effective July 6, 2015 A330/ A 340 This AD was prompted by a determination that a previously optional measurement is necessary to
address the identified unsafe condition. This new AD continues to require a detailed inspection for
visible chrome of each affected MLG sidestay upper cardan pin, associated nuts, and retainer assembly,
and pin replacement if needed, and adds new requirements for measuring cardan pin clearance
dimensions (gap check), doing corrective actions, and reporting all findings. It is being issued to detect
and correct migration of the sidestay upper cardan pin, which could result in disconnection of the
sidestay upper arm from the airplane structure, and could result in a landing gear collapse and
consequent damage to the airplane and injury to occupants.
