Portfolio 2017
Heming Zhang
Dear Mr and Mrs,
Due to my particular interest in creative design and problem solving, I am hoping to be involved in these fields at the
end of my third year so that I would like to apply for 3 months working placement position starts from the end of March
2017.
From the previous 3 years academic studies at school, I have successfully mastered a wide range of design skills
including creative design sketch, graphical layout and organisation, excellent CAD, and rendering skill and also can work
effectively under pressure either independently or within a team environment. Furthermore, I am familiar with various
machines in the workshop which makes me more competitive in turning the design concepts into reality.
I am confident that my skills and qualifications will qualify me of the position you are seeking to fill and allow me to
contribute to this highly respected organisation. I welcome your invitation to an interview where i can demonstrate my
potential in more detail. Thank you for you consideration and I hope to be hearing from you in the near future.
Sincerely,
Heming Zhang

The app helps patient to get the newest update of his dental condition
The app benifits cares in many aspects including group chat, medications and interactive learning platform
Share-care allows both dentist and carer to upload informations online through the system no matter from
mobiles or computer web.
Video Making Process
•Using text and character card to express the main
features and benifits of using share cares would be
the easiest and most straightforward medium to
illustrate our conceptual ideas.
•How interesting and attractive the video can be has
become another task for us to consider about, we
decided to use the anime style for printing both the
carer and patient pictures on the post note.
•Making up the storyboard of the video and share work
loads during filming have been a wonderful experience
for me to work as a team.
•Always learning different skills from each other and
all team members have to perform well during the
team project will always lead to an excellent result.

Main Features of Share-Care App
•Considerations of both registered and guest log in options, allow ing guests
to view the main functions of the app and also help the responsibilities or just
monitor patient progress including those who live too far away but wish to be
involved.
•Profile page stores important patient information, as well as contact information
for each carer.
•Group messaging allows all patients to communicate with everyone in the care
group at a touch of a button.
•Medication feature to monitors current and past medications in a safe and
secure way.
•Notetaking facilities to be used before, during and after the visit of community
dentist appointment.
•Interactive learning platform includes easy to digest informations, videos and
learning materials regarding dental health care
•Direct calling to provide the an easy way for both patient and and carer to
communicate with each other by pressing a simple icon.
•Expand your circle would allow user to meet new friends and share caring
experiences, and building a sense of community.

Weeky +-A monitor device which helps you to track spending and saving simultaneously.
Design Brief
Contactless payments make it harder to keep track
of spending and manage personal finances. This
assignment asks you to think of ways to make
monitoring spending easier and more intuitive.
What is Weeky+- ?
Most commonly used contactless payment methods.
Weeky+- is a monitor device which can be linked
to the bank account and keep tracking user's daily
spending and saving in both anolog and accurate
ways.

informed innovation™
“During the winter term of 2016 Heming Zhang participated in a collaborative design
project with Gillette and their innovation partner, Matter. Due to the commercial
sensitivity of this work to Gillette, the students are unable to share their work at this
time; however, what follows is a short project overview:
As part of a four-week project, students were tasked to create small teams and
operate as a design consultancy. Each team worked against a brief to explore new
grooming solutions for male and female consumers.
The consultancies were challenged to uncover local market insights, create new
found empathy with their target consumers and innovate solutions using P&G’s
Moments of Truth framework. The final output was a well thought out, holistic
concept that delivered against market, consumer, brand and business requirements.
The continued quality of work, professional attitude, and high level of creative thinking
demonstrated by the Aspect consultancy was commendable and of great value to the
Gillette business.”

FEEDBACK
Oct-Nov 2016 _TEAM ASPECT
“Team Aspect presented an innovative, fun and consumer relevant proposition for the
future of the Guard brand.
With a consistently professional attitude the team uncovered market insights and
effectively translated them into an executable idea for Gillette. Their creative thinking
won them the award for Gillette’s Top Idea.
The team worked collectively, learning, listening and positively challenging one
another. They displayed a professional can do attitude, sharing workload and meeting
all project deadlines. The final delivery was well thought out and the design showed
an in depth appreciation of the Guard brand design values.
A great team to work with, and each member of Team Aspect would be a hard
working, intelligent and creative asset to any team.”

Sliced Pizza PackageEnjor a piece of deliciousness without burning and greasy
What Sliced pizza package
Why to eat clean and safe
Who for all customers who want to eat a pizza slice
Where for outdoor take away in any pizza shops
Concept Development
Slice pizzas are one of the most popular food ordered “to-
go”. They are usually served in a carton or on a paper plate,
the latter of which is all too often too small for the cheesy
piece of deliciousness
The conceputal design is based on different ways of
holding pizza when people eat them, it includes three different
features, an opening which can be pressed by thumb and
taking pizza out from the box without burning and spilling.
A pizza shape outer box to keep it's original shape, and a
folding plate which can be shorten while eating.

Grow project
Slide-In BenchA modern bench which has a longevity, bacause it can grow with children
As children grow not only will they outgrow their clothes they will outgrow
their furniture. This necessitates the buying of new furniture to decorate their
bedrooms. This project will be to design furniture that ‘grows’ with the child.
The assignment includes the product longevity and emotional attachment to
products.
Design Research
There are many kind of adjustable furnitures which had been
designed already, the challenge is to think out of the box from all
of the traditional designing method, and provide an entirely new
experience for children and parents to enjoy using the growing
furniture.
Idea sketching
Prototype Making
Scale model ( 1:5 )
Actual model ( 40cm length x 35cm
wide x 30cm height)
The original part would be a
perfect bench for early aged
children from ( 0 to 3).
When children start growing, parents
would simply slide the alternative parts
into the gap to make it ready to use (50cm)
for children around 5 years old .
When applying both sliding parts
into the gap, the bench would be
adjusted to the highest, which
could be used forever, which
illustrates the longevity of it.
Slide Part

Slide Part
This Bench provides esaness to parents to assemble and use
them, the bench can be set between 30cm to 50 cm . It also has
a wide range of options for children and parents to choose their
own preferences of woods or plastics materials and colours.

Tri-CleanA three-in-one cleaning tool which has bin, broom and dustpan all together.
Design Brief
The design brief was given by a design faculty staff of
industrial design department of Luxun Academy of Fine
Arts in China.
I have been asked to design a highly efficient cleaning
product which would enhance user's cleaning
experience and eventually will intergrate into their daily
cleaning routine.
Most used cleaning tools in asian families
Existing Problems
Solutions
A suitable cleaning product would provide tremendous conveniences and
passions to users while they are doing cleaning up.
THIS conceptual idea is to rethink and redesign a 3-in-1 bin, inclusively with
a broom and a dustpan. in ortder to provide a simpler and better hygeian
life.
Target Market
This product covers a wide range of consumers from a family size of 2 to 5+ persons.
Development Sketch
3D Modeling
Detailed illustration
Bin with two internal bag hanging spot on
each side.
Dustpan can also be used as a flip over cover
of the bin.
Broom is designed as a cylinder shpe to
give an extra comfort for holding and easy
to slide into dustpan.
How to use?
Easily throw some trush in. Separate them to use.
Use the broom and duspan for messy Put them back as a whole.
Fine Art I am a capable fine art student, I would like to express my abilities also in graphic design field.
