Industry profile
What separates Nitco from other Indian tile manufacturers, is that we have always
invested in the best available technology. Our machinery is state of the art, and our
factory operations are almost fully automated.
We have an eye for beauty and are on a continuous quest for perfection. We
therefore ensure that only those tiles, which match our highest standards, are given
the Nitco brand label, an assurance for quality.
Located in Alibaug, near Mumbai, it is here where the company manufactures an
endless variety of world-class tiles for low traffic, medium traffic and high traffic
areas. This high-tech plant has enabled Nitco to become India's first tile company to
offer international standards in the manufacturing of tiles. From beginning to end,
only the best will do. The high standard of our laboratory, for instance, is envied by
other tile manufacturers for its through and through systematic work. Every aspect of
our tiles is measured at our very own laboratory, from the tile‟s water absorption to
its strength. Even our raw materials are constantly tested to ensure that their
properties will be worthy of only the best, Nitco tiles.
Project 1 Page 5
Project 1 Page 6
With its impeccable offerings we guarantee superior quality in terms of uniformity of
size, quality of finish, lasting endurance, dimension, colour and pattern. Our
commitment to perfection has contributed in redefining the perception of international
consumers on Indian products.
Marble Processing Plant at Silvassa
The World´s Best Marble
It‟s one of the very few automated marble processing plants in the world & the
only plant in India.
Consistent ultra-high cutting precision is accomplished with BM gangsaw
machines from Italy.
Natural marble is strengthened using automated netting and the world‟s best
epoxy resin (Tenax).
Project 1 Page 7
A vacuum processing technique seals the tiniest of micro-pores within, to
ensure perforation-free marble.
A special super-gloss process involving UV resin and processing in the UV
lamp chamber imparts one of the highest gloss levels in the world.
Project 1 Page 8
The NITCO Advantage
The superior quality of marble begins from the source - from select mines in
Italy and around the globe.
Marble is processed in the state of the art Breton processing plant in India.
NITCO is the only company that employs a pre-grinding process before
polishing.
Fully automated processes ensure consistency of size, incredible longevity,
and unrivalled enhancement of marble's natural beauty.
NITCO assures quantity supply of high gloss marble at par with the best in the
world.
NITCO's professional team is committed to delivering target quantities on-time
everytime.
Marble, Intarsia and Metal Craft
Nitco also has a marble facility at Kanjur Marg in Mumbai, receiving the finest marble
from all over the world. Countries from which we mainly source these materials
include; Italy, Spain, Turkey, Czech Republic and China.
Project 1 Page 9
Here, at Kanjur Marg, various procedures take place, including the preparation
(polishing and waxing) of the marble, as well the creation of our Intarsia series,
which inspire anyone who sets their eyes on them. With the use of a Water Jet
Cutting Machine, we are able to transform marble slabs into the most unfathomable
designs, beautiful beyond imagination. This machine also enables us to cut designs
out of metal, a procedure also known as „Metal Craft‟.
We are currently in the process of building a new and fantastic showroom, which
customers will be able to walk through and chose their marble according to their
taste. The showroom will include setups of various rooms within a home, to enable
the customer to define more clearly his/her own vision of his/her home setup.
Mosaico
Also based in Kanjur Marg, Mumbai, our mosaico manufacturing line works hard
every day to create the finest mosaic designs conceivable. What is, however, very
special about our mosaico facility, is that our customers are able to chose their own
designs, no matter how large or complicated these may be.

All the manufacturing units in Morbi (Gujarat) had suspended production during
December 2013 as a protest against frequent increase in fuel costs and other
Industry demand. Consequently non availability of material for sale from Morbi
resulted in lower sales for the current quarter.
During the current financial year, the depreciation rates on certain assets have been
revised in accordance with its useful life. Consequently the depreciation charge for
the quarter ended 31.12.2013, 30.09.2013 and nine months ended 31.12.2013 is
higher by Rs. 38.95 lacs, Rs. 38.95 lacs and Rs. 116.42 lacs respectively as
compared to the depreciation provided in the previous period and accordingly
loss for the respective periods would have been higher by these amounts.

Project 1 Page 26
Analysis
Nitco is also a pioneer in manufacturing technology.
Nitco was the first Indian manufacturer to:
Introduce Rustic Tiles (Nov 1998), which requires a unique “dry powder
application” technology in order to create a natural stone look. Nitco is, in fact,
the only tile manufacturer in India, with this advanced technology.
Introduce Super Gloss floor tiles (April 1998).
Introduce 600 x 600mm glazed Vitrified tiles.
Introduce 100% Matt Finish tiles.

Nitco aims at building a strong pool of talent pipeline and hence focuses largely

Project 1 Page 28
Bibilography
Main objectives
At Nitco provides unparalleled opportunity for learning. They significantly
invest in a transformation learning experience for people across various
layers. They conduct both in-house as well as external Leadership
Development Program customized as per requirements of employees across
various verticals across India. Employees can also take advantage of
mentoring programs.
Sub-Objectives.
To Expand Leadership Skills
o Leadership is a crucial attribute that many managers lack despite their
job title. It is common practice for companies to promote employees
with the best results, but sometimes the best salesman doesn't make
the best manager. True leaders are able to instill trust, provide
direction, and delegate responsibility amongst team members.
Project 1 Page 29
To Explore Encourage Adaptability
o Adaptability also contributes to a manager's effectiveness. When a
manager is able to adjust quickly to unexpected circumstances, he is
able to lead his team to adjust as well. Adaptability also means that a
manager can think creatively and find new solutions to old problems.
To Foster Interpersonal Skills
o Effective managers should strive to build personal relationships with
their teams. Employees are more likely to exceed expectations when
they trust their manager. When managers establish a relationship with
employees, it builds trust and employees feel valued. Valued
employees are more willing to get the job done right.
o The best managers know when their employees need more
development, and how to ensure those developments are successful.
Developing others involves cultivating each individual's talents, and
motivating those individuals to channel those talents toward
productivity.
Project 1 Page 30
To Promote Personal Growth
o Finally, an effective manager is aware of their own personal
development. In order to successfully develop and lead others,
managers must seek improvement in themselves. A manager who is
willing to learn more and use their natural talents to the best of their
ability will be able to encourage the same behavior in employees.
o Effective management skills are comprised of several key components,
and are not easily achieved. Organizations need to recognize the traits
associated with successful management, and then promote employees
based on those traits. The highest achieving employees do not always
make the best managers, but employees that naturally exude the
attributes desired by managers are sure to be effective and successful
in management roles.
o To learn more about Profiles International's solutions for developing
effective management skills.
Correlational studies:
To ascertain the impact of training on employee retention.
To compare the effectiveness of different loyalty programmes on repeat
clientele.

  • 4. Project 1 Page 4 Industry profile What separates Nitco from other Indian tile manufacturers, is that we have always invested in the best available technology. Our machinery is state of the art, and our factory operations are almost fully automated. We have an eye for beauty and are on a continuous quest for perfection. We therefore ensure that only those tiles, which match our highest standards, are given the Nitco brand label, an assurance for quality. Located in Alibaug, near Mumbai, it is here where the company manufactures an endless variety of world-class tiles for low traffic, medium traffic and high traffic areas. This high-tech plant has enabled Nitco to become India's first tile company to offer international standards in the manufacturing of tiles. From beginning to end, only the best will do. The high standard of our laboratory, for instance, is envied by other tile manufacturers for its through and through systematic work. Every aspect of our tiles is measured at our very own laboratory, from the tile‟s water absorption to its strength. Even our raw materials are constantly tested to ensure that their properties will be worthy of only the best, Nitco tiles.
  • 6. Project 1 Page 6 With its impeccable offerings we guarantee superior quality in terms of uniformity of size, quality of finish, lasting endurance, dimension, colour and pattern. Our commitment to perfection has contributed in redefining the perception of international consumers on Indian products. Marble Processing Plant at Silvassa The World´s Best Marble It‟s one of the very few automated marble processing plants in the world & the only plant in India. Consistent ultra-high cutting precision is accomplished with BM gangsaw machines from Italy. Natural marble is strengthened using automated netting and the world‟s best epoxy resin (Tenax).
  • 7. Project 1 Page 7 A vacuum processing technique seals the tiniest of micro-pores within, to ensure perforation-free marble. A special super-gloss process involving UV resin and processing in the UV lamp chamber imparts one of the highest gloss levels in the world.
  • 8. Project 1 Page 8 The NITCO Advantage The superior quality of marble begins from the source - from select mines in Italy and around the globe. Marble is processed in the state of the art Breton processing plant in India. NITCO is the only company that employs a pre-grinding process before polishing. Fully automated processes ensure consistency of size, incredible longevity, and unrivalled enhancement of marble's natural beauty. NITCO assures quantity supply of high gloss marble at par with the best in the world. NITCO's professional team is committed to delivering target quantities on-time everytime. Marble, Intarsia and Metal Craft Nitco also has a marble facility at Kanjur Marg in Mumbai, receiving the finest marble from all over the world. Countries from which we mainly source these materials include; Italy, Spain, Turkey, Czech Republic and China.
  • 9. Project 1 Page 9 Here, at Kanjur Marg, various procedures take place, including the preparation (polishing and waxing) of the marble, as well the creation of our Intarsia series, which inspire anyone who sets their eyes on them. With the use of a Water Jet Cutting Machine, we are able to transform marble slabs into the most unfathomable designs, beautiful beyond imagination. This machine also enables us to cut designs out of metal, a procedure also known as „Metal Craft‟. We are currently in the process of building a new and fantastic showroom, which customers will be able to walk through and chose their marble according to their taste. The showroom will include setups of various rooms within a home, to enable the customer to define more clearly his/her own vision of his/her home setup. Mosaico Also based in Kanjur Marg, Mumbai, our mosaico manufacturing line works hard every day to create the finest mosaic designs conceivable. What is, however, very special about our mosaico facility, is that our customers are able to chose their own designs, no matter how large or complicated these may be.

They significantly invest in a transformation learning experience for people across various layers. They conduct both in-house as well as external Leadership Development Program customized as per requirements of employees across various verticals across India. Employees can also take advantage of mentoring programs. Sub-Objectives. To Expand Leadership Skills o Leadership is a crucial attribute that many managers lack despite their job title. It is common practice for companies to promote employees with the best results, but sometimes the best salesman doesn't make the best manager. True leaders are able to instill trust, provide direction, and delegate responsibility amongst team members.
  • 29. Project 1 Page 29 To Explore Encourage Adaptability o Adaptability also contributes to a manager's effectiveness. When a manager is able to adjust quickly to unexpected circumstances, he is able to lead his team to adjust as well. Adaptability also means that a manager can think creatively and find new solutions to old problems. To Foster Interpersonal Skills o Effective managers should strive to build personal relationships with their teams. Employees are more likely to exceed expectations when they trust their manager. When managers establish a relationship with employees, it builds trust and employees feel valued. Valued employees are more willing to get the job done right. o The best managers know when their employees need more development, and how to ensure those developments are successful. Developing others involves cultivating each individual's talents, and motivating those individuals to channel those talents toward productivity.
  • 30. Project 1 Page 30 To Promote Personal Growth o Finally, an effective manager is aware of their own personal development. In order to successfully develop and lead others, managers must seek improvement in themselves. A manager who is willing to learn more and use their natural talents to the best of their ability will be able to encourage the same behavior in employees. o Effective management skills are comprised of several key components, and are not easily achieved. Organizations need to recognize the traits associated with successful management, and then promote employees based on those traits. The highest achieving employees do not always make the best managers, but employees that naturally exude the attributes desired by managers are sure to be effective and successful in management roles. o To learn more about Profiles International's solutions for developing effective management skills. Correlational studies: To ascertain the impact of training on employee retention. To compare the effectiveness of different loyalty programmes on repeat clientele.
