2. What is Drone???
• An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV),
commonly known as a drone and also
referred to as an unpiloted aerial vehicle
and a remotely piloted aircraft (RPA)
• Drone is an aircraft without a human
pilot aboard and knows as most
advanced equipment in the field of
robotics, aeronautics and electronics.
3. History
• In the mid-1800s Austria sent unmanned,
bomb-filled balloons to attack Venice.
• The drone seen today started innovation in
the early 1900s and was originally used for
target practice to train military personnel. It
continued to be developed during World War
I.
• The earliest attempt at a powered unmanned
aerial vehicle was A. M. Low's "Aerial Target"
of 1916.
5. Types
• Drones come in wide varieties of sizes, shapes
and functions.
• Drones are of two types:
• 1)MQ-9 Reaper, a hunter-killer surveillance
UAV. (Also knows as killing machine) and they
are usually deployed for military and special
operation applications.
• DJI Phantom UAV for commercial and
recreational aerial photography.(Also for
educational and research purposes)
10. US Navy’s flying
submarine drone
The Naval Research
Laboratory has been
working on just such a
drone in an attempt to
offer the capability to spy
on enemy submarines.
The US Navy has been
experimenting, though,
and we could soon see a
flying drone that also
doubles as a submarine.
11. How drone operates
The launching of a
target drone, used as
a weapon carrier to
attack on a required
target is controlled of
in commanding
centre. It is monitored
by commanding
officers called Combat
System Officers in the
operating room.
