About me
1. About me
Lighting designers are God’s mediators and instruments to create beauty. They have an
obligation to hide the ugliness and reveal the beauty in dark night. I believe that along with
expertise, technical knowledge, and experience, much of the creation of an innovative design is
inspiration; inspiration in the creation of beauty. Inspiration is not something to be trained in a
class, copied, or found in books, as no one can become a poet through education at the highest
level of Literature.
Hasan Bahadori (Bahador Bahadori) is a lighting designer with over 18 years of experience who
has actively engaged in Façade Lighting and Landscape Lighting since 1997. During this period,
he has often spent his time studying, researching, working, and making efforts tirelessly and
continuously in this field and presented more than 270 lighting design projects in the Middle
East and more than 2400 projects in Iran as the result of his hard work over these years. What
attract attention in his designing projects are creativity, innovation, complexity, and lack of
dependence on conventional constraints in this field. Bahadori strongly believes in inspiration in
lighting and maintains this feature is innate, not learned. He had a creative mind since he was a
teenager.
When he formed “a scientific-industrial group” in collaboration with other students in middle
school, he showed his intense interest in designing and building equipment by building various
equipment. Due to his great interest in Electronics, he studied this field at the university and
along with his education, he founded “Bahador Research Institute” and began designing and
building many electronic devices that the community mostly needed. Due to his impressive
activities in the university, he was introduced by one of the university authorities to “Iran
Industrial Radiography” Company to design and build electronic systems in this field. “Industrial
radiography” is a highly specialized activity and the related electronic equipment and products
are also very special that only very few manufacturers build these equipment in the world and
hence, they are very expensive. He began studying and researching on these equipment. At
that time, Iran was faced with severe economic sanctions and therefore, it was very difficult to
purchase them.
2. He worked for 5 years in this field and designed and built many relevant devices among which
are analog dosimeter, digital dosimeter, gamma and x-rays warning device (Geiger), dosimeter
charger, analog and digital densitometers, analog and digital radiometers for measuring x and
gamma rays, and Pipeline Crawler, as the most important one.
This very complex device is essentially a mobile mechanical robot that when gas pipelines are
constructed, it enters into urban and interurban gas pipelines and photographs the weld joints
between the pipes by gamma rays. This robot was used because performing this action by
humans was very dangerous and deadly. He designed and produced four crawlers over a period
of 2 years that the last one had numerous advantages compared to its German type (which is
unique in its kind in the world).
In 1995, he accidentally became familiar with the world of light and the charm of light
dramatically influenced his occupational fate. This impact was so great that he put all his
professional activities in other fields aside and began studying and researching in the field of
lighting. These studies and research still continue unabated. Due to lack of appropriate
atmosphere and the unknown nature of this field in Iran, he travelled the UAE (Dubai) and
established Royal Gift Electronics (RGE) Company in the field of lighting design and consultation
in 1997.
In 2003, he established Roshangaran Electronics Company (RGE) with the same activities which
are undoubtedly the most successful company in the field of outdoor lighting design and
consultation. His significant achievements are the result of his continuous efforts and activities.

3. He says:
Any project can be changed.
It may be a professional disease that I always get attracted to lighting aspects surrounding me.
No matter where I am and whether the place is very special. It’s enough to be stopped in a
traffic jam or look at an apartment from the street. I always stare at lighting effects and think to
myself how I could do it better. Thinking deeply and continuously about lighting is very useful,
especially during designing, because it can accelerate the process of my thoughts. An artistic
work of lighting is successful when it influences the viewer; this work should be able to create a
special atmosphere or exclusive mode. A façade which has been lightened should be able to
interact with people and make them think. Lighting should shock people like a beautiful
painting or a work of architecture, rather than creating no feeling in them and making them
pass indifferently. I believe that behind every successful design, there is a great idea or concept.
I have always tried to design projects in a way to not be lost or ignored in the surrounding space
and the shadows, but to have a clear picture and obvious identity. I always liked to add another
dimension to my design; another layer of my interest in buildings. Lighting provides a better
understanding of the building and improves the experience of the space and changes people’s
understanding of architecture (a building, an open space or inner part of the building). Lighting
can change people’s understanding of the building in the day and night. Due to his unique
capability in designing and manufacturing electronic systems and his valuable experiences in
this field, several light sources have been exclusively designed by him which are currently used
in many special projects; a unique capability which may be unprecedented in the world of
lighting.
This is one of many special features in lighting projects that has been designed by him and
causes his works to be quite distinct from other works.
