The document outlines a proposed comedy magazine, including:
1. The purpose is to help readers learn about comedy through actor interviews to entertain and educate readers about the genre.
2. The name, color scheme, and fonts are selected to be bright, fun, and eye-catching to reinforce the comedy genre.
3. The target audience is primarily 15-40 year olds interested in comedy movies, with secondary audience of older comedy fans.
2. MY PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE
• The purpose of this magazine is to help the readers receive knowledge
about comedy and the actors. I will do this by creating interviews in the
magazine. This is because I would like people to love comedy and know the
knowledge.
• My genre magazine is going to entertain the readers by them knowing
about the lives of the comedy actors and how they live.
• It will want people to look forward to reading it and become educated with
the comedy genre.
5. COLOUR SCHEME
• Sky blue, yellow and orange are bright and positivecolours, which
connote happiness and laughter. Using these colours would reinforce the
genre of my magazine. Meanwhilethe dark blue would connote the
dark humor in some comedy films that the magazine will cover.
6. FORM, CONTENT & GENRE
• Form:
• You will be able to purchase this magazine online and it can be delivered to you, or you can go to the shops and receive it
firsthand. There will be an online copy as well if you want to buy it. My magazine will be up to 200 pages and will include lots of
things including interviews and ratings. The paper I will use is glossy paper so that my magazine stands out. The advertisements that
I going to include is aftershave and phone contracts. My website will differ from my magazine is social media links to my magazine
page on Instagram and Facebook. The magazine will be £4.50 which is affordable.
• Content:
• The content inside my magazine is going to have lots of pictures of comedy shots from the movies and interviews with the comedy
actors and actresses and what they do in their daily life and how they balance their personal life with their career life. Inthe
magazine i will include comedy jokes and discounts of stand-up comedy shows because if they like comedy movies then they
may like those shows. I am also going to include advertises of other brands in it as well, for example phone contracts and
aftershaves.
• Genre:
• My genre will be a comedy theme. I chose this because comedy is a very popular and many peoples favorite genre and i can
expand on it easily and write about it for my audience to enjoy because there is a lot of information involved in my magazine.
There is lots of sub genres in comedy for example, romantic comedy. Therefore, i can expand on more movies in my magazine.
There are lots of funny comedy actors which many people find interesting and will want to know about. For example, Adam
Sandler and Kevin Hart. My magazine does link to the brief because I am creating a comedy genre magazine.
8. FONT CHOICES
-This font is very bubbly and fun which many
people think when you mention comedy. It is also
bold which is very eye-catching for my target
audience.
- This font is big and clear for my cover line. It is eye
catching on the front of my magazine for people
walking in the shops that my magazine is sold in. It is
big and bubbly and the font is not far off my title.
Body copy font
- I am going to write in this font because its bold
and it is serious. The font is clear to read for my
target audience. This font is what you will see in
other magazines.
This is my title font
9. TARGET AUDIENCE
• Primary Audience
• primary target audience is 15–40-year-olds that love watching comedy movies and
to spread the word of the magazine to their friends and family. My comedy
magazine willtarget everyone thatis interested in the comedy genre and want to
find out more about it. I have chosen these type of people because they are the
people that willenjoy my magazine and are more likely to talk about it with different
people.
• Secondary Audience
• My secondary target audience is 40+ year old that like watching comedy but not as
much as the younger generation. My comedy magazine target any people that like
the comedy genre and want know more about it. I have chosen these types of
people because the older generation are less likely tounderstand the use of
language in comedy movies. Some older people really like comedy so may be
interested in wantingto buy my magazine.
10. RESOURCES & PERSONNEL
• For my comedy magazine i will need consent from the comedy actors which
are featured in my magazine. This is because i do not want my magazine to
get sued by them for including things that they do not want in it. I am also
going to need an editor, computer, photoshop, visualisation diagrams,
camera, tripod, SD card, copy writer, legislation team, designer. I need these
people to make my magazine work and be perfect for it to sell copies.
11. DIRECT COMPETITION
Film stories is another one of my direct competition because it is another film activitiesthat havealso
got interviewsin it. My magazine is better because it is less serious, and you can get discounts off
comedy shows which this magazine does not have.
Empire magazine is one of my direct competition because i am also doing a film magazine which
is quite like empire. They do similar articles, promotions and pages as mine. My magazine is better
because my magazine has a better name and has the day in the life about the actors.
Total film magazine is one of my direct competition because it also includes reviewsabout films
inside of the magazine. They also explain the news about the film like my magazine does. My
magazine is better because some people only like comedy and only want to find out about
comedy instead of loads of genre in one magazine.
12. DISTRIBUTION
• I am going to sell my magazine in shops in magazine shops and in the
popular shops for example Tesco and Costco. I am also going to create a
website which people can buy from so that they can get a hard copy
ordered to them or an online copy that they want. Therefore, more people
can buy it because some people do not want to go out so they can
purchase online. I have chosen these methods because they can expand to
all different types of people so that my magazine will sell a lot and i will get
profit.
• I will find local film festivals located in North London and people that are
interested in my magazine will tend to go. As a result, I will promote my
magazine there. Uk film festival is where I promote it.
13. CONTENT
• The content that i am going to include in my comedy magazine is interviews
with different comedy actors. they will expand on their life and what they do
outside of acting and the behind the scenes of their film and what the arena
of set looks like in each film. In my magazine i will include discounts of
comedy shows. This is because many people that like comedy movies may
like to go and watch stand um comedy shows and comedians.
14. MARKETING
• will be marketing my magazine in cinemas mostly in North London. I will
hang up posters in the cinemas so that when people are walking to watch
their movie then they may be interested in stopping by and looking at the
poster. Therefore, they may like to buy it. I will also promote it on TikTok
because many people that have it can view it and if they like it then they
may follow you. You can also put your Instagram in your bio so people may
click that. It is also a very cost-effective way to promote.
