INSPIRE SCHOLARSHIP also known as Scholarshipfor Higher Education (SHE) is an
effort of Department of Science and Technology to encourage more and more students
to undertake Science as a field of study and go for Bachelorsand Master courses in
Natural & Basic Sciences. Every year 10000 scholarships are offered to students
undertaking Bachelor and Masters level education in the Natural & Basic sciences.
Under the scholarshipstudent can pursue any one of the following programs in in
Natural/Basic sciences from any UGC recognized Institution located in India:
 3 years B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons)
 4 years B.S
 5 years integrated M.Sc./M.S programs

 Eligibility:
o Age: The candidate must be older than 17 years but younger than 22
years at the time of making application for the scholarship.
o Academic Qualification: The Student must have cleared class12 or
equivalent examination from Central or State board.
o Academic Status in Board Exams: The student must have been among
the top 1% in Class 12 at their respective board examination in order to
apply for the scholarship.
OR
o National Level Competitive Examination: Students who have secured their
ranks amongst the top 10,000 students in National Level Competitive
Examinations such as JEE Main, JEE Advance or AIPMT.
OR
o Students admitted in following Institutes: Those studentswho have
secured admission in any of the following institutes: National Institute of
Science Education and Research (NISER), Indian Institute of Science
Education and Research (IISER), Department of Atomic Energy Centre
for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS) at the University of Mumbai.
OR
o All National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), Kishore Vaigyanik
Protsahan Yojana (KVPY),Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search
(JBNSTS) scholars and Science Olympiad Medalists.

2. o Cash Reward: As a reward of the Scholarship, studentsget annual
scholarshipof Rs. 80000. Out of which Rs.60000 are paid as annual
scholarshipamount and Rs. 20000 are paid as summer time attachment
fee.
o Duration of the Scholarship: The scholarshipis offered for a maximum
period of 5 years.
 Renewal of the Scholarship: The Scholarshipneed to be renewed everyyear
and the renewal of the scholarshipis done on the basis of the performance of
the candidate in the academic result of the candidate in his College/University
examinations.
