This plan focuses on sustainable development and the
importance of maintaining the quality of the university’s
grounds and environment. The development strategy for
this plan comprises five main points as follows:

• Use the university grounds
appropriately as there is very limited
open space.
• Land should be allocated to answer
the demands of the majority and
needs of the university as a whole.
• As an institute of higher learning,
Chula must also work to serve and
integrate well with the surrounding
community.
• New buildings should be designed to
best relate to and interact with
nearby buildings to create the most
impressive esthetics.

courses dealing with the environment or sustainability of
a total 11,800 courses that were offered.
• In the same academic year, there were grants totaling
588,502,915 TH baht allocated to research on the
environment and sustainability. Among the different
cluster and research groups, the university has one
dedicated solely to energy and climate change.
