- 4. Highlights of activities undertaken Youth summit was held in Egerton on 18th November, 2022. Students from public universities Highlights: Environmental Health and sustainable development How can the youth take part in climate change mitigation and adaptation?
- 5. Activities continued Reforestation and afforestation activities Communities Schools Tertiary institutions Tree seedlings Indigenous Medicinal Exotic- commercial
- 6. Activities: clean ups and advocacy for proper solid waste management
- 7. Mentorship of primary and secondary school students
- 8. Awareness creation- radio, social media etc
- 9. Egerton University Environmental week (23rd to 27th May, 2022) The event took 5 days with a climax celebration on the last day (see attached video ). Clean up activities in and around the University Tree planting within the university Community sensitization about proper waste management Environment talks in schools and tree planting Using poetry and songs as a means of community sensitization A total of 6,000 trees were planted.
