5. Division of Disease Prevention’s Proposal for Home
Testing Program With Men Who Have Sex With Men
• DDP will launch an advertising campaign to a targeted high-risk
MSM population for free In-home HIV test kits.
• Advertising for free In-home HIV test kits will be placed on
web-based and smartphone app-based social networking
interfaces that are popular with MSM. These include Grindr,
Jackd, Scruff, BGCLive and Adam4Adam.
• Users will be able to complete an online consent form, risk
assessment survey, and an order form for a free In-home HIV test
kit.
• DDP will ship one home kit to users. Each screening kit will
contain regional resources and contacts for supplemental HIV
testing as well as HIV prevention services.

6. Virginia’s HIV Epidemic among MSM
• As of September 30, 2014, 46% of all
people living with HIV/AIDS in Virginia
are MSM.
▫ 47.4% are Black MSM
▫ 42.29% are White MSM
• MSM accounted for 52.3% of new HIV
cases in 2013.
