Michaels Evaluation Question 4
1.
2. Photoshop
During the whole process of crafting our music video I
have learnt new techniques and processes through use of
Photoshop. Most notably I have actually been able to use
Photoshop which I can’t say the same of myself at the
beginning of A2, through the use of the side tools, I was
not able to utilize all of the tools on offer as some were
irrelevant and potentially counter-productive to the
progress at hand.
3. Magic Wand
The magic want tool proved only slightly useful as
sometimes it would clean up either too little or too much
resulting in undesired results. Essentially it was a good
start to all products of Photoshop and without it much
time would have been lost going around the image and
trimming with the eraser.
4. Layers
I was also able to understand the use of layers
on a project as we were able to add good
visual effect through these. Our progress of
Photoshop has been noted on our blog
showing each step taken, this can be tracked
back to introductory ancillary tasks.
5. Premiere Pro
I went into my A2 year with relative knowledge of
how to utilize premiere pro, and now with the
completion of my group’s music video I have gained
several techniques from observing others and from
exploring options.
6. Timeline
My Timeline management has
improved through my exposure
to my groups method, and that
is to not cut the footage and
rather to shorten it, thus
meaning that you can extend/
shorten it for later use if
necessary. In the end when we
cleaned up the timeline it looked
very nice (pulling all of the clips
into one line).
7. Effects
Throughout the editing stages of my
groups music video we constantly
debated over which effects to use
and which ones not to, as initially
we wanted to have an equal amount
of color and colorless scenes, and to
not confuse the audience we chose
to use a fully colorless music video/
style. For each scene we had to
adjust the lighting in order to get the
right contrast, and this was rather
tedious considering the amount of
clips that we cut.
8. Blogger
This term I was finally able to
embed link and more onto
blogger, which I surprisingly more
simple that you’d think, one must
simply open the html section and
paste the appropriate html and
voila.
Blogger was also useful as a blog
base as we were able to throw all
of our work and progress onto
there and not worry about putting
it in a folder and guessing when it
was made later.
