4. VOLUNTEERING ACCOMPLISHMENTS
International English Teacher Volunteer (2009)
Taught English at a Rwandan street boy’s orphanage. I taught 7 English classes a day to boys and faculty
of the orphanage.
Organized and ran a Breast Cancer Awareness Tea (2007)
I contacted local doctors and health professionals, to secure a professional to come and provide
information and answer questions. In addition I contacted two women from the community to also come in
and share their stories of having breast cancer and their personal roads to recovery. I was able to
successfully raise money by having a Breast Cancer Research Fund donations jar at the tea. I was able to
raise a few hundred dollars, but my main goal was to raise awareness.
Senior Citizen Fund Raising
Collected over $2000.00 for Blaine County Senior Center, through sponsorships and donations for the
senior center walkathon

Company Nanny: Provided care and encouragement for the children, while managing the schedules and
personal needs of the family.

Server: I was hired as a waitress. I worked breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts. I served wine, beer, and
beverages. I would either set up the restaurant for the day shift of break it down at night.
Les Enfants De Dieu | Rwanda, Africa (2009)
English Teacher: I taught seven English classes a day, five days a week, at a boys who had been living
on the street prior to being picked up by the orphanage.

Private Nanny: Coordinating of 3 families children. Each family had their own schedule requiring
frequent communication and flexibility when organizing and executing activities.
East Avenue Bistro | Ketchum, ID (2005-2007)
Busser/ Hostess: I was in charge of setting up the deck and the inside each day before opening to the
public. At the end of the evening I would break down the outside and the inside. Plus clean the tables,
floor, wash the glasses, polish the silver, fold napkins, answer the phone, greet guests, recorded the
reservations, help servers when they needed help etc.
