SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER
Jason Anker
Jason was paralysed from the waist down due to an avoidable incident
on a construction site in 1993, when he was just 24 years old.
You will hear about the incident and the impact it has had practically,
socially and financially.
A day of activity and interaction on safety, with a
special guest speaker, demonstrators, a competition
and even free breakfast and BBQ lunch!
Friday 20th March
from 8.15am until 4pm
The Consolis International Safety Day is on Friday
20th March 2015 and includes every company within
the group. It highlights the commitment that Consolis
has to the importance of health and safety of workers
and suppliers. Each and every one of us has a
responsibility to ensure we work safely to ensure the
safety of both ourselves and others.
The following information is a guide on what you can
expect from the day and how you can help make the
event fun and interesting.
Dress
Please wear sensible and warm clothes and footwear. The weather may be dry
but could be chilly!
You will be provided with a Safety Day yellow high vis waistcoat. Other PPE is
not required, however when attending the Crane Safety presentation hard hats
will be provided at the entrance to Area 9 (LDP).
Parking
Parking is available in the large car park area on the left of the main office
building. Additional parking is available near the Viking plant once this area is full
but gate C will be closed at 8am. If you can car share please do to help with
spaces.
Groups
Please see attached staff group list. You will see your group leader in red so
please make contact with them in the refreshment area ready for the day. They
will be responsible for you and will have contact details in case of any
emergency.
Route Map
Please use the routes, entrances and exits shown as yellow arrows on the site
map. They have been selected to avoid uneven ground and not to disrupt live
sessions.
The day starts at 8.15am:
Site Staff - please clock-in as if a normal day
Office Staff - please sign-in at the refreshment tent (you MUST do this).
Make your way to the refreshment marquee (area 1) where breakfast will be
available – Bacon Cobs, Sausage Cobs and Vegetarian Sausage Cobs with
brown or tomato sauce. Tea & Coffee facilities are also available for you to help
yourself to a drink.
While in this area, your group leader will provide you with a yellow high vis
waistcoat and the group leader will receive the questionnaire ready for the
Safety Day competition (see inside back page for prize details)
Schedule
Please ensure that by 8.35am you are seated in the refreshment area ready for
an introduction to the day by Rob Fifer.
8.55am led by your group leader, please make your way to your first activity/
presentation.
Refreshments (Area 1 next to the bearer plant)
There is a 30 minute break in the morning and each group has their own start
time. Tea, Coffee, Water and biscuits will be available.
Lunch is available, again at individual group start times, for a period 45 minutes
each. The menu includes: BBQ steak, chicken breast, belly pork, burger, kebab
served in bread rolls together with jacket potato halves and various mixed
salads. There will also be vegetarian options. To finish a selection of cakes and
pastries will be there if you can fit them in! Again help yourself to drinks.
Emergencies
Fire – if you hear a horn blasted three times please make
your way to the area opposite the Bearer plant (see site
map) and gather with your group leader ready for a role
call to check everyone is accounted for.
First Aid – if you or someone in your group needs assistance
please ask your group leader who will assess the situation
and call for First Aider and, where required, an ambulance. If
it is the group leader who is in need of assistance please find
the nearest group leader in an adjacent venue.






WIN A NIGHT IN THE DOG HOUSE!
A Saturday night out at Nottingham Greyhound Stadium for each
winner plus guest eg wife, partner, family member or friend. The
night includes:
Admission
Race Card
£1 Trio Tote Bet
£1 lucky dip jackpot tote bet
Pie & Peas supper
1 bottle of Coors Light, Reef or J20
Each group will complete the questionnaire through the morning
and the group leader will hand it in at the end of the lunch break to
Jeanette.
The entries will be marked in the afternoon and winners
announced at the end of the day.
