Revenues at Chrysalis plc's radio division are down 2%, according to a trading
update issued at the company’s Annual General Meeting.
Chairman Chris Wright said: “Whilst trading conditions for the radio industry as
a whole have remained challenging, we believe that Chrysalis Radio has
comfortably outperformed the industry in the five months to 31st January 2006
with like-for-like revenues showing only a modest decline of 2%. During recent
months, Chrysalis Radio has focused on enhancing its trading relationships
with its major clients in terms of both pricing and share of spend. As a
consequence, Chrysalis Radio has more than doubled the amount of national
airtime business contracted through annual share of spend deals, all of which
are at either enhanced price and/or volume levels. This development, coupled
with last week’s encouraging Q4 2005 RAJAR audience figures showing 'Heart
106.2' maintaining its position as London’s most listened to station, gives us
confidence in achieving our targets.”
