Introduction: Reading: Isaiah 9:6. “ For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah, the prophet looked to the future life of Jesus and saw 700 years into the future. He saw three things about our Lord: I. HE SAW A CRADLE . “Unto us a child is born.” 2. HE SAW A CROSS . “Unto us a son is given.” 3. HE SAW A CROWN . “The government shall be upon His shoulders.” 1. At Christmas people only speak about the cradle of Jesus. 2. At Easter people only speak about the Cross of Jesus. 3. And one day people will only speak about the Crown of Jesus. Yet, in all of this, without the cradle there would be no cross, and without the cross there would be no crown.
