An army of administrators running scripts is a platform. Mike Bland, Practice Director, 18F Technology is always the easiest part of any problem. This was true of Google in 2005, when Mike Bland joined the Testing Grouplet’s effort to drive adoption of automated testing throughout a highly successful company as its organization and systems increased in complexity at an alarming and unstoppable rate. This was true in late 2013, when the Healthcare.gov crisis led to a stunningly successful recovery after private industry experts were given clearance to fix the technical issues. It is also true of the U.S federal government today, as Mike has joined 18F as part of the effort to modernize how software is developed and procured, and to steer the culture towards maximum transparency, autonomy and collaboration. This talk will outline Mike’s experiences at Google that shaped his outlook and honed his organizational skills, and describe his efforts to capitalize on the opportunity produced by the Healthcare.gov recovery to effect broad cultural change throughout the federal government.

All systems fail; there is no system without flaw. Each connection and dependency exposes the flaws to potential accidents and adversaries, resulting in system failure. Unknown flaws represent potential risks to public safety and human lives. Security research explores new systems reveal these flaws. But research alone does not deliver safer systems. Recent stunt hacks have left us with a hangover. As the media hype dies down, the publicity bubble is replaced by a vacuum that calls for action. In the absence of a clear, technically literate direction, this vacuum is exposed to opportunists with an agenda, push a product, or perpetuate the situation. That is not the result this research deserves. This presentation will pick up where most security research leaves off, and sketch a roadmap to resolution. We consider the road forward to be our group of volunteers, "I am the Cavalry", working together to promote and encourage not repeating the same mistakes that we've been making in enterprise security the last 30 odd years. Foundation models are machine learning models which are easily capable of performing variable tasks on large and huge datasets. FMs have managed to get a lot of attention due to this feature of handling large datasets. It can do text generation, video editing to protein folding and robotics. In case we believe that FMs can help the hospitals and patients in any way, we need to perform some important evaluations, tests to test these assumptions. In this review, we take a walk through Fms and their evaluation regimes assumed clinical value. To clarify on this topic, we reviewed no less than 80 clinical FMs built from the EMR data. We added all the models trained on structured and unstructured data. We are referring to this combination of structured and unstructured EMR data or clinical data.
